:( I have downloaded the Hijack this file, but when I double click to run it I get this message: A required .DLL file, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found. What should I do from here? Thank you…
Hello "llittle" Welcome to TC. :wavey:

Please go here to download msvbvm60.dll

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvbvm60

Please remove (delete) your current version of Hijackthis.
Then follow the below instructions.

We need a Hijack This log file to be able to analyze what is happening on your computer. Please follow the instructions in order

1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' and name the folder 'Hijack This'.

2. Download Hijackthis to the new folder from this website: http:/www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/

3. Double Click on 'HijackThis.zip' to extract and install HijackThis.exe to the new folder.

4. Close ALL windows except HJT

5. SCAN with HJT and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')

6. POST the log in this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS SOME OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

We will be glad to help.

Download FxAgentB.exe from here and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.

Next click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'.

Then click here to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done, and post a fresh hijack log along with the FxAgentB log

Symantec Backdoor.Agent.B Removal Tool 1.0.1.2

Backdoor.Agent.B has not been found on your computer.
Spyware Begone is not really recommended, see here, if you haven't paid for it then I suggest you uninstall it.

Run hijackthis again and click the scan button, when it has finished scanning then put a tick against the following, close all other browsers and windows and click 'fix checked'

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank

Reboot when done…. I wan't you to post another hijack log, but not straight away. Go and do what ever you do on the internet for a couple of hours, reboot again and then come back and run hijackthis and post a fresh log.
Ok, when you have run HijackThis and you run "do a system scan only" your screen will look some like this: [external image: Posted Image].

To mark (or tick) one of the entries simply left click the entry and a tick or checkmark will appear in the box to the left of it. Once you have ticked all the entries as instructed, click on the "fix checked" button.

Well the rest of your logfile looks ok, apart from the fact that your internet zones don't want to be reset!

For now empty your temp files by using disk cleanup

Go to Start>Programs>Acccessories>System Tools> Disk Cleanup and put a check mark beside all the entries in the disk cleanup window that ask you what you want to clean. Clean all hard drives and all files. This will get rid of any malware that is hiding in the temporary folders.

Here are some suggestions to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future. I strongly recommend installing the following :

Spyware Blaster - It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
Spyware Guard - It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
IE-Spyad - IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
I also recommend reading this article written by Tony Klein How did I get infected in the first place

I'll come back to you about those internet zones!
Hi llittle, I'm back! :)

Can you download Deldomains.inf by Winhelp2002 to your desktop from here.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Post me a fresh log when done to check that those pesky internet zones have been properly reset.
I successfully installed Spyware Blaster, but when I clicked on the icon to run it I received this error: Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version File "MSVBVM60.DLL", error 1157 I had no problem with the other two downloads. Please help. Thanks!
