Hi! I have the Trojan horse BackDoor.Afcore.BB virus on my computer. It says it's located in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32:bpiciw.dll file.

A friend and I have tried for 2 days to get rid of this thing and it keeps coming back. The computer detects it but my virus scanners do not! I got your site from a reply to my post on the dell community forum. I have run spybot s&d and ad-aware rebooting after each.

Here is my hijackthis scan log.
Thanks!

Well, that's a different name for it anyway. It's still the Aflooder trojan to me!

First step;
go to start>run.
type CMD (enter)
in the window that opens, paste the bold text below, and press enter.

rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\System32:bpiciw.dll,Uninstall

please move Hijack this from a temporary folder to a permanent one, such as c:\program files\HJT. This will ensure that backups are available if needed.

Next have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\bpiciw.dll

Please post a fresh Hijack this log
Hello! Thanks for replying! When I do the start, run,CMD(enter)…it says error loading….access denied. What should I do now? Also, I have Hijack in this location: C:\HJT…….is that okay?
I was wondering if I need to wait to do the other steps in the reply to my post or go ahead since the first part didn't work. I really need to get this fixed. My husband is ticked because it's a new computer and already has a virus. Thanks so much.
I did everything from the first post except the first step. It said access denied!
I hope this worked.

Hi countryangel- Try starting in safe mode. It would be a good idea to stay with your original thread too. Less confusing that way.
Sorry about that! I'm new to this forum stuff. Do I need to start in safe mode and then do all the steps from the first reply again? Sorry to be a pain……I don't know enough about computers to mess with too much without some advice. Thanks!
Hi! Thank you all for trying to help me with this situation. I wanted to let you know not to worry about trying to help me anymore. My husband had someone come over and re-install windows xp while I was gone yesterday. I've lost all my dell stuff but…I guess that's okay. Thanks again for your advice. Countryangel
