Hello all I am in need of someone with a little more knowledge than me. Ever 4th or 5th time I check my email I get a file labeled ~ on my desktop, I open it up with notepad and it has a bunch of squares and spread out details of my address book. I have norton IS 2004 running and my pc is one that I built running win xp pro. It doesent seem to cause problems but I ran spybot, hijack this, and like I said I have norton. This started about a month ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get that also on my desk top. I seem to have some sort of problem with my computer just before it appears. I do not know how to correct it so I just delete it. I have all of the same anti spyware, antivirus programs installed also.

This is a bug in Outlook Express that show up only under certain conditions. The ~(tilde) file is actually a backup copy of your address book, created when you add another address to it. It should be deleted by the software, but isn't. Just delete it when it appears!
I didn't believe in reincarnation last time either!
