LD, Sorry to keep bothering you…..BUT you are very knowledgeable. I downloaded SpywareGuard, however when I click on the desktop icon to open the program…it doesn't open. So I thought I would delete the program and reload it. BUT when I try to delete the program it tells me that it is running and to close it to click on the icon down in the icon tray…its not there!! HELP!! How do I delete it, so I can reload it. Thanks…Dist6B P. S. Task Manager does not show it running.
Use Add/Remove Programs and remove it. Click Start> Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. You could also try and Right Click on the ICON and select open. That might open it.
LD, That's part of the problem…if I go to Add/Remove programs, it tells me the program is still running and to go to the icon tray and right click the icon to stop the program…..there is NO icon in the tray. If I go into windows explorer, and right click the icon…it doesn't open the program…it doesn't do anything. Thanks, Dist6B
Here it is…Thanks

I suggest you do this:

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
When I clicked Fix Checked…A SPYGUARD BROWSER PROTECTION ALERT box poped up..It says "An attempt to change Internet Explorer settings has been detected…it also says "warning ! your IE search page has been changed. At the bottom I click on Keep New Value…but the SPYGUARD PROTECTION box keeps popping up. Is this because Spywareguard is still running…but that is the problem in the first place..I can't stop or delete the program.
Well, I didn't think hijack this did anything because of the message I was getting…however, here is the latest hijack this log. I'm trying to understand what is going on here. Did the four R1-HKCU entries in the Hijack This log have something to do with not being able to delete the Spywareguard program ? I was only able to delete it after I removed the four entries. Should I try to download Spywareguard again or is there some conflict ?
LD,
Now I can't run msconfig…here is a hijack this log…

After I type it in and hit OK the window brifely opens and goes away and if I continue to hit OK it won't do anything…Here is something else going on…I click on a link and the page opens but it is blank…I recieved an e-mail that you had replied and it had a link..I clicked on the link and the page opened, but it is blank. I had to open Tom Coyote home page and go in that way to access your message..
This is what I suggest you do.

Download CWShredder from my signature below. Unzip it on the desktop.
Open CWShredder and with ALL other windows closed, click fix.

Go here and run at least one of the online scans, allow them to delete whatever they find:

TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan
Note any thing that can't be fixed
Reboot when done.

Next:

Even if you've already run these, make SURE they're up-to-date and run per instructions.
