Highjack, Can You Please Tell Me If My Log Is Ok?

hi,

my computer has been highjack by this thing call peopleonpage…I would use the yahoo toolbar anti-spy to get rid of it, but everytime I restart my computer the peopleonpage highjack would appear again. Can you please help me get rid of this? Thank you.

Hello deco9999, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. I wish to request that you use Add Reply instead of New Topic so you will not create multiple posts. This adds to the confusion and often causes double work to be done. Thanks.

1) You have HijackThis.exe running twice in the log. You must delete the one in the temporary folder. See this:

(Keep this one) C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe

(Delete this one) C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 28 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe

2) You have a lot of bad stuff in this log, here is what I want you to do:
We need to run our big guns for cleaning out malware. Ad-aware and Spybot can get the areas we can't reach with the HJT tool. I am going to give you links to tutorials and it is important that you take the time to review the information, then to download, update, configure exactly as in the tutorials and remove what is suggested in the tutorials. Make notes of anything these two programs can't remove, the exact name and location of the item. Run Spybot first, if you receive any DSO Exploit notifications, ignore them and please do not activate TeaTimer at this time, once you are clean you may activate it. If Spybot removes anything reboot before running Ad-aware SE Personal.

3) Then run these two free online scans having them clean or fix anything they locate:

4) Make sure you note anything that can't be removed by these four scans, the exact name and location of the item is very important. Post that information along with your next log.

5) Clean Like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Check and remove anything windows locates.

6) Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Use the following two links to stay in this thread, then post a new log along with the information from the scans and any feedback you think we should have.
