Hello again beng.

Step 1
Download CWShredder.exe to your desktop from one of these places:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3019
http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshr…r_download.html

Double click on the file to clean up clicking FIX to have it remove all it finds.

Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, and check the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {467FAEB2-5F5B-4c81-BAE0-2A4752CA7F4E} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\8SN7IY~1.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sncntr] c:\windows\system32\sncntr.exe /nocomm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Control handler] C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmmf6cfmbflwthd.exe
O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: dc4ytnzb4ey.dll

Optional items to check with HijackThis for improved performance.
Automatic updates for ViewPoint products such as ViewPoint Media Player (as bundled with AOL, AOL Instant Messenger, Compuserve, etc)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Please set your computer to show all files.

* Double-click My Computer.
* Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
* Click the View tab.
* Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
* Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
* Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
* Click Apply, and then click OK.

Step 4
Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter') and delete the following files/folders:

c:\windows\system32\sncntr.exe <<< file only
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmmf6cfmbflwthd.exe <<< file only

You'll need to search for these two using Windows Explorer. May be in C:\WINDOWS\system32\
winlogin.exe <<< file only Do not delete the valid winlogon.exe file
dc4ytnzb4ey.dll <<< file only

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ <<<Whole Folder if checked above

Step 5
Reboot normally. Run at least two of the following online virus scans making sure to reboot in between each one. Allow them to fix anything they find.

bitdefender
pandasoftware
Trend Micro
Symantec Security Check << click scan for viruses
RAV Online Virus Scanner << Enter your e-mail address and click on To continue without subscribing
McAfee

Write down anything that can not be fixed.

Step 6
Scan with HijackThis and post the new log as a reply to this thread. Include anything that can not be fixed by the online scans.
Thanks for you help, but I have got myself confused, by posting two log files from both of my computers, i can't remember which one is which. How do I close both open topics on this forum, so that I can start over. I will only do one PC at a time.
I looked over both logs and they have considerable differences. :) You will not be able to mistake which one is which when you scan with Hijackthis.

Scan with HijackThis and check for the following entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Control handler] C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmmf6cfmbflwthd.exe
O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: dc4ytnzb4ey.dll

If they are present than close HijackThis and start from the beginning of the fix. If they are not present than they are for the other computer.

If you still have trouble determining which log is for each computer, than post a HijackThis log for one of them as a reply to this thread and I'll start over from the beginning.

I am off to bed now (4:07 A.M. here) so I'll check on your progress when I wake up.
Thanks for helping. I think it is going to be easier to start over, as I have done a few things to get PC running a bit better. Here is the HJT log file.

Looks like this is the cleaner of the two computers. :lol:

Open HijackThis, run a scan, and check the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdStatus Service] C:\Program Files\AdStatus Service\AdStatServ.exe

Optional items to check with HijackThis for improved performance.
Resource hog that launches common MS Office components to help speed up the launch of Office programs. Some users claim there's no difference with or without it but it isn't required anyway.
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Please set your computer to show all files.

* Double-click My Computer.
* Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
* Click the View tab.
* Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
* Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
* Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
* Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup) and delete the following folder:

C:\Program Files\AdStatus Service\

Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread. Once I confirm that you are clean I'll have you post the log from the other computer.
Okay, done all that.
Thanks in advance, here is the new HJT log file.

Looks like a2 may have blocked the fix. :(

Open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and end process on a2guard.exe.

Open HijackThis, run a scan, and check the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdStatus Service] C:\Program Files\AdStatus Service\AdStatServ.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Please set your computer to show all files. (Should still be set this way from the previous fix)

* Double-click My Computer.
* Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
* Click the View tab.

Let me know if you have any trouble deleting the AdStatus Service folder.
Here is the new log. The only problem I had was that the Adstatus folder was not there anymore.

Your new log is clean.:) How is it running? I'll give you my all clean speech below. Feel free to post the log from the other computer in this thread.

Now that everything is fixed, I suggest that you get these programs:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - Safer alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

AVG AntiVirus - Free antivirus program if you currently are not using one.
ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Here are two very good and free malware scanners:

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3
AdAware SE v1.05
Set-up Instructions for Spybot S&D; and Adaware SE

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place"

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
Okay, I will download and start using the recommended programs. Here is the log file from the other computer, I have done a lot of deletion and cleaning up on this computer, so hopefully is might not be too bad. Is there anywhere online or books you could recommend that I could learn a bit more about HJT log files and how to use and read them,and the Registry in general. Once again thanks for your help.

Just one item to fix. :)

Open Task Manager and end task on a2guard.exe.

Scan with HijackThis and check the following:

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

I suggest downloading and installing the programs, from the all clean speech above, to both computers. These will prevent or eliminate most malware.
