My desktop has been taken over by an advert for spyware remover. I have tried numerous things but mI cant get rid of it. Here is my hijack this log.

Hi Brian, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. Please look at your HJT.exe: Brian\My Documents\HijackThis.exe. It looks like the HJT.exe is not in a folder. Make a new folder and move the HJT.exe into it. Otherwise backups and logs will be all over the MyDocuments. Thanks.

Open HJT and click on Scan, put a check in front of each of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Clean Like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then ok. Check and remove anything windows locates.

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Use the following two links to stay in this same thread, post a new log with any feedback you think we should have.
