download KillBox.zip (Removal Tool #15) from here:

Place it in a folder on your Desktop.

double-click on KillBox.exe to run it.

In the main screen of Pocket KillBox, go to Tools in the top menu bar, and select: Delete Temp Files.

Back at the main screen of KillBox, select the option: Delete on Reboot

In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste this entry:
C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe
Press the button with a red circle and a white X.
When asked if you would like to Reboot, select No.

Finally, in the Full Path of File to Delete, copy and paste the following:
C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
Press the button with a red circle and a white X.
When asked to Reboot, select Yes!!

Empty Recycle Bin
Reboot

"copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

I've done this with the KillBox program. I will post this scan … and then I am going to go try the kids user id's. I have created new ones for the both of them, but it still shuts down when you sign in to their screens (or at least it did before this with KillBox)

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.


Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"


Open C:\WINDOWS\isrvs <–Delete Folder


Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.


Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.


Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

Okay .. here we go again. NOW .. just a reminder … my problem with popup ads is cured .. but now I have had the problem with not being able to use my extra User ID's for the kids. It's been shutting down my PC. I am almost afraid to try it again .. but I will as soon as I post this for you. Please know that I really appreciate all of this help!

Yep …. everything works great EXCEPT for the fact that I can not use any other User ID other then my own. If I try to switch to one of the kids ID's (which I deleted and re-did them) … it still automatically shuts down my PC.

I think you so very much for all of this time you have invested in helping me with my problem. And rest assured that the problems with the pop-up ads is fixed.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA

I've seen this before, but it always indicated a memory error. But if that were the case here, it wouldn't matter which user was logging in.

If I try to switch to one of the kids ID's

Try a shutdown / restart, then login as one of the kids ID's.

Have you checked the temp directories for the other users (kids names)
Do a Right Click on Start> select Explore. Look under Documents and Settings (kids ID's) Local Settings> Temp and Temporary Internet . Check and clean these out for every user listed.
