hi,
i have got desktop icons that i cannot get rid of (web hosting, bingo, casino online, printer cartridges, card games, poker and travel), i have also got favorates that are linked to the desktop icons and also cannot be deleted, i have also got two toolbars that appear both at the top and bottom of my screen when i open web pages. the top one is silver, the bottom one is blue and recons it is a graphic and i cannot get rid of it, also my homepage keeps on getting changed to searchtheweb and whenever i cannot access a web page a searchtheweb page cannot be found comes up with all the same things as the bad favorats and the desktop icons.
i have encountered all of thease probolems and have been able to get rid of them by running spybot search and destroy and ad-aware se personal, i have also run cwshredder to no avail (evey time i run it i get no files infected). but now i cannot get rid of them. neither program is picking it up and the icons and favorats dissapear whilst the scans are running but reapear when the computer is rebooted of when i next log off and log back on. its almost as if they are hideing.

Go to add/remove programs and look for and remove MessengerPlus3!.

Next scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Then reboot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads) then look for and delete these files

hi, did all that.
could not find all of the files, especialy the ones you asked me to find and delete after starting up in safe mode.
i tryed to copy and past the search results after typeing in application in search. but could not. altho i do have prt screens but i dont know how i can show it to you.
i have also come across some dogy files which i am unsure of weather to delete them. they are all in a file named user data, the files within this have names such as: 1AOMQVYT.

o and btw, i have still got the desktop icons but the tool bar has gone.
well as far as i can tell.

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done.

hi
most of the probolems seem to have gone now (i say seem to, because they were there after i did the last set of things you told me to, but they have kindof dissappeared, this has happend b4 and they have then reappeared at a later point)

could not find and of the listed programs.
i ran both spybot (and got DSO exploit 5 entries as my only result) and adaware se(4 cookies found).
i also ran the virus scan from trend micro. this found no viruses

hi. i eat my words.
the probolem has gone from two of the users on the computer.
thoes users that seem to be fine are sophie and neil.
the other two have the bad irramoveable icons and the favorats still.

Go to add/remove programs and look for MesengerPlus3 and remove, its the one causing all the issues. Check all the users and the admin account and remove it wherever present in add/remove then scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX>

i deleted it but it still comes back grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
and thoes bloody icons are still on users kevin and mum (yve, i dont know which one it is comeing up as)

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done.

If not listed there, click here http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe, download and run this uninstaller. Reboot when done.
Please let me know if you find anything.

hi i cannot find any of the programs you listed and i can also not get onto the link you gave me as my securety settings do not allow me to veiw the site. i have tryed changing my secruity settings but i still cannot get onto the link you gave. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. i have changed my settings on spybot to tell me when blocking bad pages and ask for comfemation of blocking. what do i do? sorry im feeling dumb 2day. not helped by the horrid cold i got. and i cant work out what i gotta do. sorry.

No problem, lets step back for a second. Please do a new Adaware SE scan, making sure that you update it. Choose Start then make sure that you click on "perform a full system scan" then click on "next". Remove everything it finds then post a new Hijackthis log please.

Open task manager ctrl/alt/del and look for and stop process on these files if present.

hey.
ok good news. got my regular page cannot be found (not the searchtheweb one). all the icons seem to have gone but…
the first two results from hijack this are still showing up as

when i was running tea timer on spybot. it kept on asking about a change. which was lots of random letters. i stopped running tea timer because this was popping up evey 30 seconds or so. do you think this could be related? and if so, should i run tea timer anyway?
