I would appreciate someone taking a look at this log to see if you spot problems.
I'm not at all sure about the multitude of things showing up in the log.
Thank you!

Hello midtown, welcome to the forum.

I suggest you do this:

Restart your computer in Safe Mode.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemTasks] C:\sexypicz.exe

Open C:\sexypicz.exe <–Delete File

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Okay - thank you. Let me tell you where I am. I haven't finished all the steps, so am answering from another computer. I got through all the steps, including running HJT to "fix" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemTasks] C:\sexypicz.exe However, when I opened C:\ I am unable to find sexypicz.exe in order to delete it; so I'm assuming this may mean that HJT did, indeed, fix it? Meanwhile….. you said: Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS. Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder. Well…..I'm on uncertain ground here…. My C:\ does not have a "Windows" folder, per say. It DOES have a folder labeled "WINNT" (in which there are a gazillion $NTUninstall" folders, as well as other folders, including "Offline Web Pages," "Temp," etc. Would THAT be the same "Temp" folder you were referencing under C:\Windows ?? Regarding: C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder I find a folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ but inside of it there is no "Local Settings\Temp" folder. The folders I find are: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users Application Data (this one is faded) Desktop Documents DRM (this is faded) Favorites Start Menu Templates (faded) I'm sure this is merely a reflection of the particular OS (Windows 2000 Professional), but I don't know what I'm doing here - so thought it would be helpful to tell you exactly what I'm seeing BEFORE I try to finish the steps. SOoooo….. I'll await further instructions…. and again, I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
You can do it this way for Windows 2000: 1. Open My Computer 2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example) 3. In the context menu that opens, select properties 4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup 5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes 6. A box will display the various files you can remove. Check all boxes except compress old files 7. Click OK and windows will comply.
dont mean to butt in but you can do this in w2k: Empty your Temp folders. Go to Start > Run and type:cleanmgr. Windows will scan. When done check these 3 and press *ok* to remove: Temporary Files Temporary Internet Files Recycle Bin and Click Start>Run then type %temp% Hit OK. Delete all the files you can, some wont delete.
Okay, in doing this, the Disk Cleanup shows two boxes checked: Downloaded Program File (0 KB) and Temporary Internet Files (5,822 KB) the above boxes are checked. The only other boxes shown (all not checked, but all showing 0 KB) are: Recycle Bin Temporary Files Catalog files to the Content Indexer So….you're saying I should click the "ok" which will take care of those 2 checked boxes? (sorry….but I really am afraid of messing something up here! chicken, chicken, chicken…
Okay. I have done all of these steps. Should I run HJT again while I am still in "safe mode," and save the log …. or should I go ahead and reboot into regular mode and THEN run HJT and copy/paste the log?
Whew. Okay, here's what the new HJT log shows.
(and let me say "Thank you!" once again……)
Let me also mention that the very LAST item on this log, i.e.:
O16 - DPF: {E06E2E99-0AA1-11D4-ABA6-0060082AA75C} (GpcContainer Class) - https://specialolympics.webex.com/client/la…bex/ieatgpc.cab

seems to be associated with a program which I deleted earlier today - so I'm wondering if I can just do an HJT "fix" on that log entry?
Of course, there may well be other stuff in here that I should and/or could get rid of….

Anyway….here's the full log:

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Before restart, Empty Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Just so you know…. after "fixing" those through HiJack This, there is nothing in the recycle bin to empty. Recycle bin can't be emptied because there's nothing in it. If that's normal - or not a problem - I'll go ahead and restart and run HJT again.
Okay LTate, thanks again, and here we go:
