Hello CoolCat, welcome to the TC.

Looks like you have items disabled in Mscong, Startup. Please enable them:

Before restart, Empty Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

What items should I enable?? I disabled ZoneAlarm last night in order to have more RAM. Should I enable that, just to run Hijack This!?
Your log looks pretty slim. I figured you had disabled items. If you didn't, don't worry about it.

Lets see if You have a Lop.com infection. To remove it follow the instructions below.

For Windows 2000/XP users
Click Start Select Control Panel
double click Add/Remove Programs
look for any of the following, and uninstall them:
Window Search
Window Searching
Lop.com
LOP SEARCH
Browser Enhancer
Ultimate Browser Enhancer
IMPORTANT!!!

You may find entries similair to the above but with Weird spacing in the names.
They are Lop.com, uninstall them.

If it is not listed in Add/Remove Programs, or if the uninstall does not
seem to work go here:
http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe
download and run this uninstaller. Reboot when done.

Before restart, Empty Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

The reason it's "pretty slim" is because I am on WIN98 and only have 64MB RAM. :o

Do the same instructions apply to WIN98?
OK, those particular items aren't there but here are five which I have no idea of what they are. This computer belonged to someone else, in the military, and she had every conceivable type of communication devise on here you can imagne. She must have had netscape because it's on one of the drives (there are 3, C, D & E) but I don't use it. WebTurbo 2.02 for Netscape WSFTP (SoftCast Distribution) Secure Delivery Win32 BI Application S3 SonicVibes Control Applet
I don't think I'd remove any of those at this point. After you're running good then you can try and figure out which ones are good / bad.

I suggest you do this:

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove.
Check all boxes except compress old files
7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
OK, done. Here's the log. Thanks!!!

Oh oh!!!! I think I deleted "fixed" the wrong ones!

If you delete any of the 016's that's ok. They'll come back the next time you visit that site ;)

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

you can click on the link. It looks like a site to play / download games.

Log looks good :D  How is it running any issues?

Get at least the free Anti-Virus ;)

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
