Any idea what this program is
C:\Program Files\Consumer Input
if not remove it with this one Viewpoint .

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following.
Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

Then Download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip
Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"

Reboot afterwards in SAFE MODE. If you don't know how click here
Delete the following file(s) listed
(do a search for this one. It'll probably be in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32.)

Delete the folder(s) listed
C:\PROGRA~1\NETRAT~1\NetMeter
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

Some of these files and folders might have the hidden atribute
How to show hidden files and folders in Windows Instructions here

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
How my computer is behaving
-sluggish at startup

error popups:
*It keeps telling me that ActiveShield (Mcafee's prgm) can't run, and that it needs to be installed again.

*Also, I get these two annoying error messages continuously: 1. Component 'SHDOCVW.DLL' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
2. Dr. Watson was unable to attach to the process.
3. Oh, and this one pops up too: has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You need to restart the program.

All of this stuff, excluding the sluggishness, started happening after I ran Mcafee Anti-Spyware 2005 and removed what it identified to be spyware.

That's the gist of it.

Try running System File Checker (sfc.exe) instructions here

It keeps telling me that ActiveShield (Mcafee's prgm) can't run, and that it needs to be installed again.

no idea on that one.

1. Please download Stinger and save it to your desktop
2. Double-click on the stinger.exe file and open the tool
3. Choose your entire hard drive to scan.
4. Choose Scan Now
5. Stinger will fix anything that it finds
6. Click the File menu and select Save report to file
7. Post the log file results here in this thread.

All of this stuff, excluding the sluggishness, started happening after I ran Mcafee Anti-Spyware 2005 and removed what it identified to be spyware.

Does it have a recovery?

C:\Program Files\Consumer Input and what is this program?
The file you're wondering about I guess is something called Nielsen Rating prgm. I'm not totally sure on this, but I uninstalled the Nielsen Rating prgm., and then I was able to delete the consumer Input folder that you're wondering about. Before I uninstalled the prgm, it wouldn't let me delete the folder. As far as Mcafee goes…not sure on that one. Like I said, the error messages didn't start up until after I removed the stuff it recognized as Spyware. When given the option to restore the spyware, I'm at a loss. I have no idea of any of the progs. are safe to restore, especially after all the scanning and removing I've done. Here are the progs it told me to remove though: -Spyware Nuker -SurfSnoop -SaveNow/ WhenU -Weatherbug -WildTangent -RapidBrowser -RadLight -New.net -InPop -MyWebSearch Now, I can't access any of my Mcafee prgrms except for the Anti-Spyware. Anywho, thanks for all the help. I've already referred my friend to this forum. If I need decent help, I know where to go. -semijoyful B)
