Trojan Or Windows/nav Problem?

Okay…was warned by NAV that Trojan had attempted to enter my computer…Okay…got a notice from Microsoft to update my computer to install Service Pack 2. Did so, and it had a window pop up that asked me if I wanted to continue using Norton Internet Security 2004 instead of the Windows SP2 security features. I said yes to using Norton. Turned off computer, when I turned it back on, many Windows features were gone. Got a 'ccApp.exe Application Failed' error every time I would start the computer. None of the icons on the desktop would display text, and in fact, it was only by sheer luck that I found System Restore through the Download Manager area of XP, and even then, had to guess what the button icons were for. Finally got the system back to the point before downloading Windows XP Service Pack 2, but am still experiencing the ccApp.exe and a user prmpt error as well.
So, frustrated with the obvious lack of meshing of Norton 2004 and Windows SP2, and having Norton refuse to load, I went to AVG and got their free version. It is now what I am using to protect my computer. However, I cannot get to my emails either with AVG 7.0 or Norton.

Big Frickin' Mess.

Here's my HJT Log.

Withering Mentally and In A Fetal Position On The Floor….

(weakly….) he…lp.

Don
Little Eagle…. Tried to remove Norton, but was told that I had to log on. I couldn't log on, at all. Went to the scannow system, and ran the program, but files were hidden… Hints? Allegations? (Things Left Unsaid,…) Don
Little Eagle…. Went to the Norton link as you said. Part of it was restoring the Windows text, which brought up immediately the AVG update, and now my AVG antivirus is running and I have access to emails. Still couldn't completely uninstall Norton Internet Security, however. What is your opinion of AVG vs. Norton INternet Security? I've had problems with NAV/NIS and would happily change over to AVG if you think that it is a better product. The customer service at Norton seems to be severly lacking, as I actually paid online for an update to 2003, but the registration number that they sent me would not take…and I had to buy a complete new disc at Sam's. If I can't remove Norton completely, is it okay just to leave it on the computer? Thanks, many many thanks… Don
Little Eagle…

I downloaded and installed Spybot as well as HJT.

Ran Spybot and rebooted.

Here's my current HJT log.

Looking over old threads I cam across yours sorry about the delay.

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following.
Do this by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.
