I believe I am fairly clean.. thought I would post my log to be sure. Zone alarm shows Skype constantly trying to access the internet. Hmmm..
Thanks for the service you provide.

Hello jeem86, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. We do have a couple of issues, including a trojan. I usually run free online scans if I see trojans present, but since I only see the one, I will remove it and give you instructions for scanning your computer after the HJT fix.

First, let's address your Skype question:
Unless you tell ZA to allow Skype internet access, you will get messages when it tries to access, it could have a variety of reasons to want online. If you did not install the program, it is installed as you can see below. If you wish it removed, just let me know. Below is information about this item.
C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Skype] "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /nosplash /minimized
http://computercops.biz/startuplist-3365.html
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/detail.php?id=3667

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file) (this item is an orphan, doing neither good or bad, but we will take it off of your hard drive)
(This next item is the trojan, info in the link below the line)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [atiupdate] C:\DOCUME~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe
http://computercops.biz/startuplist-5989.html
(if you did not put this item in the trusted zone, please remove it, it will be part of the HJT fix)
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.ticketmaster.com

It does not look like the trojans .exe is hidden, but it may be running. Please open Task Manager (RIGHT click on the Task Bar and choose Task Manager) then click the Processes tab. Look for "msshed32.exe", if it is there highlite it and end process.

Scan with HijackThis and put a check in front of each of these items:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [atiupdate] C:\DOCUME~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe
O15 - Trusted Zone: www.ticketmaster.com

With all programs and browser windows closed, click on "Fix Checked"

Now we need to get rid of that file, RIGHT click on Start, then choose Explore. In the tree that opens, locate and delete this file:

C:\DOCUMEnts and Settings~1\James\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe >>> file only

Clean like this: Start, Run type "cleanmgr" without the quotes and ok. Allow windows to remove anything it locates. Empty the recycle bin and reboot the computer. Post a new log using Add Reply to stay in this same thread.

AFTER you have posted the log, I wish to say that AVG (properly updated and run) should have detected this trojan. If you just installed the new version and did not update and scan your system, the trojan might have been there.
I believe we have removed it, but let's leave nothing to chance. Please complete these three steps, IF anything is located that can't be removed, post a fresh log with that information…Thanks.

1) Update AVG and run a complete system scan, this will take a while.
2) Run this free online scan allowing it to clean anything it locates: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
3) Run this free trojan scan allowing it to clean anything it locates: http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

This may seem like overkill to you, but I do want your computer to be clean of infestations.

Thanks…pskelley

pskelley, thank you for your assistance. I followed the steps you recommended and found the following: I installed Skype and adjusted the options so it would not start up with Windows. I checked the task manager and did not find msshed32.exe running. After "Fixing Checked", I looked for the file msshed32.exe and could not find it. I ran cleanmgr, rebooted and have the following log. Thanks again, I will check AVG.

OK James, looks good. I sometimes tend to overkill, but would rather check a lot of places than miss one and leave an infection. The item is gone from the log and probably left when you fixed it with HJT. Use your HJT logs to keep an eye on things, in case it shows again. You might also purge System Restore to make sure something is not hiding in there. Your log is clean right now, and here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss and ChrisRLG to help you stay that way:
