Getting a lot of pop ups and slowdowns with IE, also a weird side effect after getting infected with crap my recycle bin now no longer functions - regardless of settings anything deleted just disappears.

I’ve tried restarting in safemode and running, adaware, spybot, spysubtract and cwshredder, most either find the same things every time they are run some times they can remove or repair but if I run the programs again they just find the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello agamidro, welcome to the TC.

Download Adaware/Lavasoft VX2 Cleaner plugin…..

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml

How to use Lavasoft’s VX2 Cleaner plug-in:

Close Ad-Aware and Ad-Watch (if running)
Download the free VX2 Cleaner
Install the VX2 Cleaner
Start Ad-Aware
Go to “Plug-ins”
Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click “Run Plugin”
If your computer isn’t infected, click “Close”.
If your computer is infected

Select “Clean system”
Reboot your computer
Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
Remove any VX2 objects detected

Reboot your computer again

Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your computer.

Then post a new HiJackThis log
It said my computer was clean, spybot says there are about a half dozen different coolwwwsearch.(various types oslogo, bootcf etc)

also I've tried just closing everything and running hijack and removing

3.) Highlight all the files and click the 'Delete these files' button.
4.) You will be left with notice about one to be deleted on reboot.
5.) Reboot
6.) Run VX2Finder again and click on these buttons in the right pane:
- user agent
- Guardian.reg
- restore policy
7.) Exit and reboot once more.
8.) Run VX2Finder again click on the 'Click to Find VX2.BetterInternet' Button.
9.) Click 'Make Log'
10.) Post the first log and the second log in your next thread

seem to be gone…not complaing, i just don't understand what made it dissapear…that's cool, do you have any idea why my recycle bin is still screwed up? everything I delete just dissapears, i promts the "are you sure?" then it's gone, i checked by right clicking and "do not move to the recycle bin" is not checked, if i open the bin and drag something into it promts are you sure then disappears, is this some weird spyware/adware side effect?

Did you reboot after running the suggestions? Maybe stayed until connection was lost.

Checking your log now
I rebooted after most scans and such, probably about 6 or 7 times so far, with and with out the eithernet connected (shrug) right clicking - "do not move to the recycle bin" is not checked, if i open the bin and drag something into it promts are you sure then disappears, is this some weird spyware/adware side effect? Other than that everything seems to be working pretty well, no popups in a while, or giant floating adds (the big cut out looking things with a nearly hidden close option) or 100% cpu usage because of IE, I don't understand how but your pressance seems to have fixed almost everything. I really appreciate all the help, sorry to be a pain in the ass
This is what I suggest you do next.

Make sure you have the up-to-date versions of Spybot V 1.3 and Ad-aware SE Build 1.05 . All are free and available below.

Download Spybot, install and update. Then download Ad-aware, install, and update.

Spybot:

Install the program and launch it.

Go to Start > Programs >Spybot > Search & Destroy and choose Spybot S&D

Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
Click the button to "Search for Updates" and download and install the Updates.
Next click the button "Check for Problems"
When Spybot is complete, it will be showing "RED" (RED) entries "BLACK" entries and "GREEN" (GREEN) entries in the window
Put a check mark beside the RED (RED) entries ONLY.
Choose "Fix Selected Problems" and allow Spybot to fix the RED (RED) entries.

Ad-Aware FULL SCAN:

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform full system scan.
Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Before restart, Empty Recycle Bin.

Restart your computer.

Post a new HijackThis log.
Will do, since that's going to take a bit, and it's almost turkey time I'll prolly post later tonight or tomorrow, thanks for all your help and Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

Same to you :D

Thanks it was good :D

ok so baring the who recycle bin thing (I have some other programs that do about the same thing I can live with out it) but now things are at that pretty much fixed, but not quite so it's driving me %$*&ing nuts if I run spybot then ad aware they find some crap remove it and hijackthis log is cool, then if I open IE and try to browse I can view sites and I get one popup, after awhile I may get another but nothing too big, I'd think it was the sites but I'm going to my work sites and google and I have the google toolbar installed so after I open IE my hijack log looks like this

Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2
