Keep getting pop-up ads when using Explorer. I've run Ad-aware, and spybot.. removed everything they found.. mcafee keeps complaining about this webinfo program..

Help plz.. thanks

You needKill box
Download Killbox.zip

Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the 'Paste Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste this entry:

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\[RTRIVI~1]replace with full name\\LOCAL SETTINGS\Temp\ofnibew.dat


Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". In the window that opens up, click on the File menu and choose "Add File". The file should show up in the window. Then repeat the process, this time adding:

C:\WINDOWS\Registration\webinfo.exe

If that's successful you should have the two files listed.
When they are all there (and double check!), in the same window choose the Action menu and select "Process and Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!
Run Hijack This!
Click "Scan".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):
O2 - BHO: CATLEvents Object - {02F96FB7-8AF6-439B-B7BA-2F952F9E4800} - C:\DOCUME~1\RTRIVI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ofnibew.dat

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Delete all files
C:\DOCUME~1\RTRIVI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ofnibew.dat
C:\WINDOWS\Registration\webinfo.exe

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)
