Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\3edpgb4cmibthd.exe

It will prompt you to reboot, press the NO button. Instead, copy and paste the following and click the 'Delete File' button again:

C:\Windows\System32\y5u2ll32rnwgtnll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll


When it prompts you to reboot this time, press the YES button.

After restarting, with only HijackThis running, scan and when complete, remove the following entry by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Then, click Start>Control Panel, double-click on Administrative Tools then on Services. Look for a service called Wintools for IE Service. Double-click it to open, then click the Stop button and change the 'Startup type' to Disabled. (Don't worry if it's not there)

Press CTRL>ALT>DEL to bring up the Task Manager. In the Processes tab, look for WToolsA.exe, WToolsS.exe and WSup.exe. If any or all of these exist, right-click on each one and select End Process Tree and answer affirmatively to any confirmation questions.

Go back to Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs. If there is an uninstaller for Wintools, try running it.

Now delete this directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools <– folder

Reboot back into Normal Mode when done. Rescan with HJT, post a new log and we will remove any remnants manually.

i downloaded Pocket Killbox, opened and instructed it to delete the two files listed above. When asked to reboot, i said yes, and it gave me this msg: "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been removed by External Process!!" and does not reboot on its own. do i reboot, scan again with Hijackthis! and delete the files listed above?

ran another scan, these are the files that come up on the new hijackthis log. No, i didnt erase the other files, mainly because the names have changed. NOW what do i delete??

Go here to download the free version of Grisoft's AVG AntiVirus program. Go here here to download the free version of Emsisoft's a2 AntiTrojan program.

Install both programs, check for updates and scan your system allowing them to remove whatever they find.

Then post a new HJT log.

Try the Killbox again.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\3edpgb4cmibthd.exe

It will prompt you to reboot, press the NO button. Instead, copy and paste the following and click the 'Delete File' button again:

It's nearly gone. Click here to download Spybot Search & Destroy - install, update, scan and fix all RED items it finds. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here so that any remnants can be removed manually.
