Hi moosenbabe, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. It would help so much to know what issue you are experiencing.
I can tell you that you have a lot of resource hogs on your computer the least of with is not IncrediMail.
I will clean up a little, then give you links to where you can investigate what you have running. If you locate programs you wish to remove, do that in Add/Remove programs. If you locate programs you can see you do not need at startup, use msconfig to disable them. You can still access those programs should a need arise via Start, All Programs.

With all browser windows and programs closed, scan with HijackThis and check each of these line items, then click "Fix Checked".

Clean like this: START, RUN type "cleanmgr" without the quotes then OK. Allow windows to remove anything it locates. Using Add Reply to stay in this same thread, post a new log with feedback about how the computer is performing and any information you think we should have.

Hello, I see no evidence right now of an "about:blank" infection in your logfile. Work carefully, at your own pace, and only when you will not be interrupted. I will see what is done when I view the next log, and I am always notified via email when you post to this thread. If you have questions, post them. Be patient with yourself, we can not fix the problem without you. :)

:thumbup: heres my new log, my computer is not really moving slow, just when I close an internet page, sometimes the about:blank pops up, but its not all the time. Thanks again for your help, I hope I am doing all of this right!

Great job, you only missed on BHO orphan, it looks like this:

It is not hurting anything, but it is not helping anything either. When you are ready, scan, check and fix that item. You know how to do that now.

A couple of other items, I do want to point out that you are running some programs that are resource hogs like Incredimail, Weatherbug and others. Weatherbug is known to place adware on your computer as a price to pay for their service. It is your computer and if you are happy with the performance, great, I can see no malware in evidence.

Thank you. I removed that last one you said too. As for the weater bug, I removed it from my add/remove programs, but I don't know where else it is in my computer. But I still have incredimail, I think its fun! Next time I see that pop up I will write down the info and let you know what it is. Also thanks for the info about AVG, I will take care of that. One other question, what is a good free firewall to use? If you have any suggestions please let me know. You also have a good firewall built into WindowsXp SP2. Open your Control Panel, click on Windows Firewall and make it is not running at the same time as the Sygate. Look at your Security Center while in there to make sure it is working and updates are set to automatic. If you wish a free Personal Firewall, here is a link to Zone Alarm, one of the best. Make sure you read Help before you enable Zone Alarm if you decide to use it. In the Help area, review all items under Zone Labs security software basics so you will know how to configure the firewall. Once you have in configured it will do the job without much attention. Please give as much description of this problem as you can, exactly how and when it happens, all the words you see, anything else you can think of. It's hard when you can't see what is happening. The box just pops up sometimes when I close the main web page. IT says
about:blank-Microsoft….. it pops off so quick, thats all I can read. It dosn't happen all the time, just some times. I don't see a pattern of activity that I do that makes it come up. It just does it when it wants to I guess. If you don't see anything else wrong, and you don't think theres anything wrong, then I will just leave it alone. Hello moosenbabe, A couple of more items. You are running AVG 6.0 and if you have not been notified yet, that program will no longer be supported by AVG after 12/31/04. A new free program is available for download now here: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php You do not have to uninstall the old program as this will be done for you during the download and installation process of the new software.

I do encourage you to use the links, and a current HJT log to look at each program so your are aware of what you are running. There are some real resource wasters there. It is your computer but at least take a look at the information so you are aware.

Let's try this, Open Internet Explorer, then click on Tools, then Internet Options. On the General Tab please make sure you have a Home Page set in the Address box and not "Use Blank". If you make a change, remember to Apply and OK your way out. If this does not work, run your clean manager, scan disk, defrag, to see if this removes the page you are seeing.

Last there is one orphan item that was missed in your log. Please scan with HJT and put a check in front of this line item:

Then click on "Fix Checked".

Hello Again! I did what you said, but the about:blank is still there when I close my web pages. Also I don't know if this has anything to do with anything or if you can even help me, but I also have a prolbem with ending programs. I will go to close a box sometimes and it won't close then the end now box shows up and I have a prolbem with it all day. If you can help, great. But if you can't thats fine.
