Hijacked Favorites

I browse with ie or avanti browser. I use firewall lite, and scan using avg, s+d and ad aware.
I still have on my favorites, when I delete them, they return, things like viagra, car insurance, etc. These appear to belong to www.fastsearch.com.
I do not want it and would like to remove it.
Please help as the net since going to broadband is getting to the point I just will not bother!!!!!!!!!!!

The original problem appeared to be solved. However, when next used the pc( same one as before) to access the web a window appeared saying a trojan had been detected by spybot. Then my favorites had the addition of several new favorites. If I go to favorites/organise/ then delete them, they dissapear til the next time I log on, then they are there again. However when I use any virus checker either nothing is detected or trojan bitzen a is detected but i am unable to delete or quarrantine this problem. If I log on under my partners setup there are no viruses or new favorites in her tool bars. I tried all the online virus checkers you suggested, they removed what I thought was all the problems. sorry for the second post.

Create a new folder called C:\HijackThis, move the HijackThis.exe file into the new folder and run it from there. This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

still got the list in favorites, car insurance, block pop ups, casino, etc. When I hover over them the address is http://fastsearchweb.com
Also occassionally when searching for innocent stuff lke argos I get a full window for naked poker girls.com or free spyware search.
When I close the window thats an end to it, it does not show anything up on the history though.

Delete that list in your favorites.

Click here to download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder and doubleclick on sss.exe. Check the boxes under the 'Items to Clear' tab and click 'Clear Selected Items'. You will be prompted to reboot, do so. Repeat for all log-in accounts on your computer.

I deleted this from my favorites,and they re appear with every logon. Also at random interval I get redirected to poker sites, etc. this goes when I press "back". It does not show on my history either. When I run avg 6 or norton 2005 they both bring up trojans, however they are unable to delete or quarrintine them, there appear to be 4 of them, avg finds one and norton the others. They are a bit of a pain but I live with them now! thanks for all your help to date, It's helped me to understand my p.c. a bit better, I still don't have much of a clue though!!!!
