I hope someone can help me. Every time I open IE it brings me to this web address: http://a-search.biz/?wmid=1010. It's some weird search page.

Immediately after that, my McAfee virus software finds a Trojan and deletes it.

Then a dialog box appears asking me "Do you want to install and run "International Charges Yes, otherwise press cancel. Minors and persons under age of 18 are not allowed to continue, press cancel." distrubted by: DialerPlatform Limited. Publisher authenticity verified by Thawte Server CA.

I of course click on No.

Then another dialog box comes up and asks me if I want to scan for viruses.

This happens every single time I open IE.

I installed and ran HijackThis. Here is my log file. Please tell me what I can do to get rid of this. Thank you.

Thank you Siggyx! I follow your instructions carefully. Sure hope it works. This is a real pain in the %#*&^! I have never had such a stubborn problem with my pc before. Thank you.
Ther will be more cleaning to do after those steps so hang in there. So post a new Hijackthis log when you complete the steps for manual cleaning.
Ok. I followed the steps. Here is my new hijackthis.log. What do I do next?

By the way, 04-HKCU\..\Run: [iexplore] c:\windows\system32\iexpolore.exe did not show up in the hijackthis scan under safe mode. and I couldn't find the iexplore.exe file in windows\system32 when I searched for it. The only place I saw wntlgns.exe was in a backup folder of the hijack folder itself.

Click on this link http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip to download TheKillbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the 'Paste Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste

C:\WINDOWS\System32\iexplore.exe

Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". Click the button with the red circle with a white X in it. Click OK on the window that appears.

After that, click the exit button to end the pocketkillbox program. Then open and scan with hijackthis and check the boxes next to all these, close all other windows, then click Fix Checked.

After that, restart the computer so that the killbox can do it's work. Post a new log for review.

That was a full log. Your instructions were to:

"After that, click the exit button to end the pocketkillbox program. Then open and scan with hijackthis and check the boxes next to all these, close all other windows, then click Fix Checked."

That's what I did. Then I re-ran the hijackthis scan and that's all that was left in the log file. Was I not supposed to check off all those files?

I have just rebooted and ran a new log. Here it is with a few more lines in it:

No. There were no lines identified. No problem ;) my fault not clear enough. But hijackthis has a backup function for just this type of thing. :D Open hijackthis then click on config then backups then one at a time put a check beside these lines then click on restore..
