Please help me with this hijack this log. I followed the instructions for setting up and running ad-aware that I found here, ran it in safe mode too. I have been struggling with this for a week now and it's driving me nuts. I recognize some of the items in the hijack this log but fixing them has done no good as they reinstall immediately.

Thanks in advance!
Karl

Hi and welcome to the forum.

First click here>>> http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm to download LSPFix. Extract the program from the zip file and run it, make sure you click the "I know what I'm doing" button. Select calsp.dll
and using the right-pointing 'arrows' and move all instances of calsp.dll
it mentions to the Remove (RHS) side but leave everything else (it might already be over there when you open LSPFix). Click the 'Finished' button (if you exit with the X at top right nothing happens).

REBOOT to complete the task.

Please download vx2finder to your desktop from here http://downloads.subratam.org/VX2Finder(126).exe Start Vx2finder, then click on "Click to Find VX2.BetterInternet" and then click "Make Log" and copy and paste the entire contents of the log here.
Thanks for the help! I ran lspfix and removed calsp.dll, rebooted and ran vx2finder. Here is the vx2finder log. Log for VX2.BetterInternet File Finder (msg126) Files Found— C:\WINDOWS\System32\6go4svc.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\6wo4svc.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\aactres.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\ayledit.dll Additional Files— Keys Under Notify— AtiExtEvent crypt32chain cryptnet cscdll ScCertProp Schedule sclgntfy SensLogn Storage termsrv Time Zones Tracing Userinstallable.drivers Wdf Windows WinFax Ports Winlogon wlballoon WOW Guardian Key— is called: WOW Asynchronous 000 DllName C:\WINDOWS\system32\aactres.dll Impersonate 000 Logon WinLogon Logoff WinLogoff Version 126 ID {B1D1ABE1-5EFD-484F-A8C2-53FFD608A43A} IDex L2Ma User Agent String— {E8A35429-8A11-474C-B69B-4892117348CD}
Alright, that looks fine. With all other windows closed, run VX2Finder and click on "Click to Find VX2.BetterInternet". Select all the files found and then click "Delete These Files". It will delete all but one of the files and tell you that it will delete the last one on reboot. Allow it to reboot. After it reboots, start VX2Finder again and click the following buttons in order: Guardian.reg User Agent Restore Policy At that point, to get rid of any remnants, update Ad-Aware(you can download it from my signature below if you do not have it ) and do a full scan, letting it remove anything it finds. Reboot again, then, to be sure it's gone, start vx2finder again, click on "Click to Find VX2.BetterInternet" and then click "Make Log" and copy and paste the entire contents of the log here. Please also post a new Hijack This log at that point.
Thanks Siggyx!

Hear is the latest vx2 and Hijack this logs.

Need to get rid of all instances of that file when you use the LSP tool

First click here>>> http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm to download LSPFix. Extract the program from the zip file and run it, make sure you click the "I know what I'm doing" button. Select calsp.dll
and using the right-pointing 'arrows' and move all instances of calsp.dll

REBOOT to complete the task.

Then please boot to safe mode (tap f8 whiule bios loads) then scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Oh, I am still showing kudd.com apps installed, "faces of bush" and "choose your president". Should I use the control panel to uninstall them or will they phone home and reinstall themselves again?
Use add/remove to get rid of them.

Looks good :D

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.

Safe Surfing. :D
I am running AV and have the system protected by a router, this is just one computer on my home network, unfortunately one of the kids clicked a link which started this whole mess about two weeks ago. Thanks so much Siggyx! The world is a better place because of you and everyone else helping others in this forum! Kudos! Karl
Glad we could help.
