I run spybot S&D, Ad-aware SE everytime I get off the internet (cable modem), and these programs also find something new. I'm getting some pop-ups while on-line (Clinkbank mostly). I'm having trouble with my computer keeping its bandwidth if playing online games. Thanks for any help, here is my log file.

Hi Shcowboys1
Please do the following. Select a couple of the online scans below and let them scan your PC and fix anything they find. Then download Ad-Aware and Spybot, from the links below.

Trend Micro http://housecall.antivirus.com/

E Trust http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx

Rav http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/

Panda http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm

Bitdefender http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/Msie/index.php

Spybot Tutorial

AdAware Tutorial

Be sure to Update both Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D before running them and REBOOT each after running them.

Then, please post a fresh Hijack This log here, in this string.
Hey, thanks for replying. I ran Housecall- found nothing, then I ran the second one on the list virusinfo- found 3 viruses (Win32.SillyDI.AJ, Win32.Startpage.IZ this one twice). It cleaned 2 of them but left one. I then ran the one from Panadasoftware and it found 1 and cleaned it. I've just run Spybot and Adware, and after doing all this I'm still getting clickbank pop-ups. Here is my latest HiJackThis.log. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Shcowboys1

Please print out these instructions so you can read them while you clean your system. A printout also makes a good check list for Hijack This, to avoid making errors.

Unless you know these and are comfortable keeping them, have HJT fix them.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

For TkBellExe: This is unnecessary to run at Startup, but it will need to be turned off in the program as well as fixing it here,or it will simply put itself back here… By the way the Program is Real Player.
See the following url for more information on TkBell,to help you make an informed decision.

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

You have PowerReg Scheduler in your log. This is a registration reminder that is used by a number of different companies. It is not needed and some people think that it reports back to the company about your computer, so I suggest fixing it…

Close all other windows and browsers, then click on "Fix Checked.
Then please REBOOT.

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?

You may need to show hidden files to delete the following File(s) and Folder(s).How to show all hidden and system files

Delete the following File(s)/Folder(s) while in Safe Mode.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msprivs878m.exe (only if you fixed it with Hijack This)

Reboot into normal mode, enable hidden files and post a fresh Hijack This log in this thread. Any specifics concerning continuing problems would be helpful.

Hello Shcowboys1

First, please use the following link to download a free trial of Trojan Hunter. Run it and let it fix anything it finds.

Trial Version of Trojan Hunter.
http://www.misec.net/trojanhunter/

Lets do this fix in Safe Mode.

Please reboot into safe mode by tapping on F8 frequently, during Bootup.

Make sure your settings allow you to view "Hidden files". Open up any explorer windows and click on "Tools" => "Folder Options" => "View" and be sure to check off "Show Hidden Files and Folders".

Please print out these instructions so you can read them while you clean your system. A printout also makes a good check list for Hijack This, to avoid making errors.

Please run Hijack This again,THIS TIME IN SAFE MODE and place check marks next to the following entries.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MProcessor] "C:\Program Files\\MProcessor\mprocessor.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {728FE275-6785-4D45-83B6-EDD3E30AF093} - (no file) (HKCU)

The following entries are optional, or known resource hogs. If you have noticed an overall slowdown in your computer, consider shutting down some of these. Please read the description following each and check mark for "fixing" (or follow instructions for disabling) according to your needs.

See the following url for more information on TkBell,to help you make an informed decision.
http://www.mikescomputerinfo.com/TkBellExe.htm

Close all other windows and browsers, then click on "Fix Checked.

Delete the following File(s)/Folder(s) in DARK while STILL in Safe Mode.

C:\Program Files\\MProcessor\mprocessor.exe

Reboot into normal mode, enable hidden files and post a fresh Hijack This log in this thread to see if anything additional needs to be done.
Hey Piatan,

I did everything you put in your last post. The trojan hunter found 23 trojans on my system. As far as theTkBellExe goes, I went to the website and read the instructions, but I cannot for the life of me find a button when realplayer is open that simply says "Internet options", so I am unable to turn that off. I will keep trying to find exactly where he is talking about, I do goto prefs and goto "Internet" but none of the options have anything to do with what he talks about on his website.? Here is my latest log file. Again, thanks for everything.

Hi Shcowboys1

Your Hijack This log seems to be clean.

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.

And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place?
