Hello, in the past few weeks, there have been strange adds playing on my computer at random times. Usually I don't have a browser running, or much at all running for that matter. However, commercials (audio) just start playing on my speakers. It just plays one, then more at other random times. I've looked for information on this, but I haven't found anything. I'm wondering if this is a virus or spyware or anything of the sort, and even more wondering how to get rid of it! Oh yes and if it helps at all, commercials usually range for new movies out in theaters, 'Dora the Explorer' advertiesments <_< and a few others mainly- however there isn't much variety..... Thanks to anyone who coudl help at all

Do you have AIM with DeadAIM ? If so, here is why: Yes AIM now displays ads! This has been happening for a couple months now. The reason you only hear audio and not see any video, it is because of the DeadAIM program which strips the video part of the ads but not the audio. If you didn't have DeadAIM installed, you'd see the ad like on TV... :) Quick way to get rid of it ? Dump AIM..... Otherwise you'll have to deal with the random ads....

I use DeadAIM...so that must be it. It's a shame they're adding so many adds now. Well I don't thinkI could bear to dump AIM so I guess I'm stuck with it <_< thanks for answering my question though!
