Hello.

"House Clean" free software has identified the following viruses present in my computer:

JAVA BYTEVER.A-1
TROJ MULTIDROP.Z

Please boot to safe mode(tap while bios loads) then scn again with hijackthis and put a check veside tehse lines and choose FIX.

Then while still in safe mode delete this folder C:\spe

Then please clean out all cookies, files and offline files in Internet explorer.

Reboot and post a new log.

Running good! :D The only thing different now is my hotmail inbox has changed. It will not allow me to get to inbox or any other folders. I have installed the free version of ZoneAlarm and followed the directions for settings so I don't know if that is a separate issue or not. But regarding my virus situation—Thanks a bunch!!!! If the HotMail thing is outside of your realm that's OK. Thanks again!

Well thats easy to check. Turn Zone Alarm off and then try to access hotmail. If it allows you then ZA is blocking it. If that is the case then post back and there is a way to allow it.

I tried signing out of Hotmail and then back in both with Zone Alarm off and on but got the same result: it recognizes my logon but will not allow me to access my inbox. Also when I click "my e-mail inbox" it takes me to Outlook. I don't know of anything that I changed to do this. Any thoughts?

If you don't have these two programs SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard I would suggest that you install them. These 2 programs will add 1000's of sites to your restricted zone and block some hijacks from happening. HERE is a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
