Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those
folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example:

C:\WINDOWS\Temp\

C:\Temp\

Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select "delete all offline content."

Empty your Recycle Bin.

Reboot into normal mode.

Click here to go to the Windows Update site. Download and install ALL critical updates.

Reboot when finished.

If you are not running version 1.3 of Spybot S & D, click
here to download Spybot Search & Destroy v1.3 - install, update, reboot into Safe Mode, scan and fix all RED checked items it finds. Reboot into normal mode when done.

Perform a custom Ad-aware scan in Safe Mode……..

If you do not have the latest version of Ad-aware SE Personal, Build 1.05, click
here to download Ad-Aware and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Then boot into Safe Mode, start the program, and click the gear wheel at the top and check these options to configure Ad-aware for a customized scan:

Under "General Settings" all available options should be selected.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under "Drives, Folders and Files," select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Drives and folders to scan" and select your installed hard drives.
Under "Memory & Registry," select all options.

Click the "Advanced" button.
Under "Logfile detail level," select all options.

Click the "Defaults" button.
Under "Default IE Pages" set the "Default homepage" and "Default search page" to what you want them to be; otherwise, Ad-aware will reset them. Do not select the option to "Read current settings from system"… manually fill in the desired web address for each. (For instance, if you want Google as your search page, fill in www.google.com in the "Default search page" field).

Click the "Tweak" button.
Under "Scanning Engine," select the following:
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under "Cleaning Engine," select the following:
"Always try to unload modules before deletion."
"During removal unload Explorer and IE if necessary."
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on "Proceed" to save these Preferences.

Run the Ad-Aware scan, making sure that the mode selected is "Use custom scanning options."

When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click
"Next." The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" -
this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?" Reboot into normal mode when finished.

Next, perform online virus scans using the links in my signature below. Allow the programs to delete all that they may find. Reboot after each scan.

Go here: http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/ and perform an online Trojan scan, allowing the program to delete all that it may find. Reboot when finished.

Scan with HijackThis and post a fresh log into this same thread.
Thanks for your response. I work 11-7, therefore the late response. I do use all the tools you recommended, so I did have Spybot S&D set to prevent changes to IE settings. I did not include the two 06 entries then. Here is my new log. I will check back in mid-afternoon as I need some sleep.

Hello,

You're very welcome. :)

Your log is clean now, so this would be a good time to flush out your system restore points and set a new clean one…..

Turn off System Restore.

Go to Control Panel.
Double click on System.
Click the Performance tab.
Click on File System.
Click on the Troubleshooting tab.
Place a checkmark in Disable System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK

Reboot.

Turn ON System Restore.

Go to Control Panel.
Double click on System.
Click the Performance tab.
Click on File System.
Click on the Troubleshooting tab.
Remove the checkmark in Disable System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Set a new system restore point.

Download IE-SPYAD here: https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm

It will place over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so that you don't accidentally visit innocent appearing sites that aren't really innocent.

Scan often with Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-aware to remove malware before it gains a foothold on your computer. Make sure you keep your system updated by frequent visits to the Windows Update site (see link below). Always install ALL critical updates.

Please take a minute or two to read the short article, "How did I get infected in the first place?" (See link in my signature below). You will find good information on keeping your system clean in the future, as well as links for excellent free anti-spyware tools.
Downloaded the IE-SPYAD and installed, deleted restore points & everything is running well. Again, thank you so very much. bearmstead
