Then reboot and go to windows update, you should really have SP4 on that machine now..

Post me a fresh hijack log when done please.
Thanks so much for your help!

I did what you suggested, except for SP4. I want to do some backing up before I tackle that. Here is the log file. About the only problem I think I still have is the two "spydeleter" entries. Why can't HijackThis delete these two entries?

hi jfobrien1458

Hijackthis can identify the spydeleter stuff, thats the main thing!

Open notepad, and copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into a new text file.

Save it as file name: "fixme.reg" (not including the quotes). Save as file type: *All files* and save it on your Desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}]

Then, locate fixme.reg on your desktop and double-click it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer 'Yes' and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

Post a fresh log please
Here is the log file. I copied the script and tried it out, but it didn't seem to work. I went into the registry editor and manually deleted the entries. How did you know where the entries were (the rest of the path?). Also, I know it's a bit off topic, but do you know of a resource on back up and recovery? All I've got is a CD burner, and I got about 15GB of stuff on my hard disk. I know I can re-install apps., but (for instance) how about backing up e-mail or my user profile or the registry? What should I be backing up and how would I do a restore? Just a pointer to a FAQ would be fine.

For information on backups there is an excellent guide here

The 09 entries in a hijacklog are browser extensions… I didn't write the script though, that was written by grinler and we have had great success with it so far. B)
