Download then unzip and run CWShredder to clean up clicking "FIX" to have it remove all it finds.

CWShredder available from these places :-

http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads.php
Or this as a full download without any unzipping required
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/CWShredder.exe

We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine. Detailed instructions from here :-
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…001052409420406

Then post another log.
I ran cwshredder in safemode and it found nothing, here is the hijack log ran in safemode as well.

First download Firefox
http://texturizer.net/firefox/index.html
Make it your default browser.

Then disable
Winpatrol
Spywareguard
Spybot s&d (Teatimer option) And any thing else that you have blocking IE

Right click the running icon of spybot's teatimer, and choose exit.
Right click the running icon of winpatrol, and choose exit.
Right click the running icon of Spywareguard, it will open the program, Menu, file, exit, and confirm the programs close.

This will let any start ups run, so we can find out what is in there.

Do I just load firefox and then redo do a hijackthis scan?

Starting to look like you have one of the more severe infections.
If that is so IE might be come harder to use Firefox will alowe you to
navigate through the internet with out being redirected.

After you do that you can remove the protection from IE.
And we can see if an About/Blank infection shows up.

Would I be better off with a refomat?

I don't think so.

You are running windows XP which allows you to move to a
old restore point before the infection. If you can remember when about blank started. See if you
have a restore point about a week before that. To do that hit
Start>control panel>Preformanceand Manintence>System Restore
click restore my computer to an earlier time. Then move to about a week before the infection.
I need you to do is download the file from here:

Getservice.zip

Extract the file to the c:\ drive. Then navigate to the c:\getservices and double-click on the getservices.bat file. A notepad will open up. Please paste the contents of that notepad as a reply to this post.

Then Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.
