How Do I Remove This Search Bar...

This appears every time i open the IE at the bottom, like a pop up…

What should i do…

Note: i tried removing the "R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.gybmrsxjxdg.com/80zquO9fITHu2pL...UQB6.html" but when i start the IE again and scan my pc with hijackthis it appear again.

How to use Lavasoft's VX2 Cleaner plug-in

- Close Ad-Aware 6 build 181 and Ad-Watch (if running)
- Download the free VX2 Cleaner at http://updates.ls-servers.com/plvx2cleaner.exe
- Install the VX2 Cleaner
- Start Ad-Aware 6 build 181
- Go to "Plug-ins"
- Select the VX2 Cleaner plug-in and click "Run Plugin"
- If your computer isn't infected, click "Close".


If your computer is infected

- Select "Clean system"
- Reboot your computer
- Scan your computer with Ad-Aware
- Remove any VX2 objects detected
- Reboot your computer again
- Run a second scan to make sure the files have been removed from your computer

It doesnt do anything… it says that im clean, and still the search bar appears. Maybe this helps… it only appears when I open the IE for the first time… if i call a new window from the current one, it doesn't appear again. But if i call IE from the start menu it appears.

Download the LOP uninstaller from http://members.rogers.com/rjmac/new_uninstall.exe
Close IE and run the uninstaller; click OK>it will then ask you to type in a number that it supplies, do so and click 'uninstall'>yes>OK>OK.

Restart HijackThis and put checks next to the following, close all browser windows (including this one) then click on 'Fix Checked':

Close IE and run the uninstaller; click OK>it will then ask you to type in a number that it supplies, do so and click 'uninstall'>yes>OK>OK.


Ok i hit the Ok button and said that "No LOP uninstallers were run form add/remove programs. Click yes to force the unistall of any LOP software or leftover LOP files found on this computer". I clicked yes and nothing happened… but i was curious and repeated the process and clicked NO. Then a new dialog box tell me that "An incomplete install of the software may exist. Click yes if you want to remove any possible toolbars and reset your Searchbars, homepages, to IE default values (It's recommendedyou click no to this quatien and see if the LOP software is removed. You can always run the unistaller again and click yes to this prompt.)".

So i said "here goes nothing" and clicked yes… all settings reseted. So i proceed to scan with hijack and this is what i got:

There's no search assitant like before… so, this is it… the final test… I opened the IE and.. NO search bar! :).

Since i do some things by my own, i want to know if i did well… but at the least there's no search bar.

Please read through the ideas and free software listed below that will help to keep your computer clean.
Some of these you may already have installed or may have done already.

Install a firewall.ZoneAlarm FREE

Ensure that an Antivirus is updated weekly and running. AVG antivirus from Grisoft is a very good FREE antivirus program.

Make sure you have the latest critical updates from windows update.

SpywareBlaster will prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 known 'bad' sites into your IE restricted zone so that they cannot install malware on your PC.

Google toolbar has a very good built in popup blocker with a nice search bar. To provide privacy, select disable advanced features when installing.

Check your system for latest virus definitions with an online virus scan every week or two.

Check your system for latest trojan definitions with an Online trojan scan also every week or two.

I just dont understand why it keeps appearing… I didn't do anything, i was just talking by MSN when i opened th IE and appeared again… WHY!? Are there multiple user accounts on the machine? If so, run the LOP removal tool in each on, reboot, and post Hijackthis logs for each account.

No, i just have this account… unless the Admin account that windows xp creates counts.

Then please download and run the LOP uninstaller found here: http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe

I can't download it … it says that my security config dont allow me to do it.

And yes, the bar is still apears. There's also a Pop up and the Error page of the IE is changed for a Search one…

What version of sypbot are you running?

Run Ad-aware SE
Download the latest version of Ad-Aware here:

After installing Ad-Aware, and before running the program.
Please be sure to update the reference file following the instructions here:

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under Drives, Folders and Files, select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the "Advanced" button.
Under "Log-file detail level", select all options.
Click the "Tweaks" button.

Under "Scanning Engine", select the following:
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.

Run the Ad-Aware scan and allow it to remove everything it finds and then REBOOT to allow it to finish.

Click Start Select Control Panel
double click Add/Remove Programs
look for any of the following, and uninstall them:
Window Search
Window Searching
Lop.com
LOP SEARCH
Browser Enhancer
Ultimate Browser Enhancer

IMPORTANT!!!
you may find entries similair to the above but with Weird spacing in the names.

They are Lop.com, uninstall them.

You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done.
