I tried a couple more times for days prior to today… Honestly, I've got a lot of time into software installations to go back too much further. The printer worked fine this morning. :( How should I proceed? Thanks
Thanks…

No, the system does not recognize any printers… When I try to add, a window comes up saying operation could not be completed. This all happened after we deleted the files.
For the following file, I want to make sure it's not a valid.
Right click on it and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:

C:\windows\temp\ABoiLb.exe
I did a search for spoolsv.exe on my OS disc and it was not found. Not really sure if I did it correctly. In addition, I will have to get you the particulars, but my wife said she was getting a script error while on the computer earlier tonight.
Hi, I've been trying to restore my computer all the way back to 2 weeks ago and it will not let me… After doing some research on my own, I'm actually quite concerned that you would have me delete legitimate Windows files like spoolsv.exe. This seems to be the reason why I no longer have printer capability. I've tried to copy the file from my OS CD, but it is a compressed executable… and I'm not sure how to copy it over and uncompress it. Please advise… Thanks.
Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

Yes! You are correct. A typo. Now could you Please give the step above a Try.
And I'm sorry for the loss of use of the printer.
Hi Jose:

I have looked through the complete thread and little eagle did ask you to remove aspoolsv.exe by error. If you look back you will see that he asked you to remove spoolsvc.exe. Notice the c. That is a very common way for viruses and worms to hide, they choose names close to the legitimate ones. Here is information on that file he asked you to remove.

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc…e=WORM_SDBOT.UK

Please boot to safe mode and search for and delete the file below if present.

spoolsvc.exe.

Then reboot ans post a new log please.

If little eagles fix for that file does not work we will try another way.
Hi, Thanks for the help… I've performed the sfc /scannow… still having printer issue. Here is my newest log. Thanks.

Hi, My printer is now back up… I was able to copy the spoolsv.ex_ from my OS disc to a floppy… Then extract it to the system32 folder utilizing PKZip. Lastly I re-installed my printer drivers. Now I'm good to go.
