When typing a web page I get re-directed to http://www.heretofind.com/show.php?id=13.
Also, I'm constantly being bombarded with pop ups advetising security software when online.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Here's my Hijack log.
Thanks in advance.

hello ask,

two steps, first run ad aware next step requires boot to safe mode:

there is also a newer version of HJT out; http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
put it in its own folder.

the bad news is that its probably not gone.
lets try somehting else, if you dont have it- download Ad aware personal edition, (free for home users)here:
http://www.lavasoft.de/
update it and configure it like this:

Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Press "Scan Now"

- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives…
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"

If it finds "bad" files and registry keys, press "Next" again
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

———————————————————————————————–

ok Next Step>> Make sure your PC is configured to show hidden files

Double click my computers & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Reboot your PC into SAFE MODE(tap F5 key at start up, chose safe mode )

How to start the computer in Safe mode:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…001052409420406

ok once in SAFE MODE:

Scan with HijackThis and place an check next to the following entries, then press *fix checked*

hello ask,

sorry for delay. you have a nasty one- thats going to require two tools for removal:

1)go here: http://www.zerosrealm.com/index.php?page=downloads

and about half way down the page download>> StartCHM Fix
double click it and it will create a file where you want (ie, desktop is good)
there are several file types inside the folder but before runnning make sure files are set to show:

Double click my computers & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

ok make sure all windows are closed and click the >fix.bat< file and let it run
at finish notepad will open and list any bad files it finds, copy them somewhere for later use.

it may ask you to reboot to remove the files automatically
run it only once.

also do a search for either of these and delete them if found:
C:\Windows\System32\ C_10230.DLL or
C:\Windows\System\crt32_v2.dll

also:
Empty Temp folders. Go to Start > Run and type:cleanmgr. Windows will scan. When done check these 3 and press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin
———————————————————————————————————–
2)also download and run CWShredder from here:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

its a zip file, unzip it to a folder. run it and click FIX not scan, it will run and clean up anything it finds.

hope this fixes it, let me know how things are going…………………shelf life
