I went into Task Manager, then processes, and I did not find rasautou.exe. I was able to download the updates for my Ad-Aware SE Personal and I scanned my computer again. It found 19 more things and quarantined and deleted them. I'll let you know what happens.... Thanks so much guys!! deidre

Okay.....I signed off last night and my beloved pop-up war started. When I signed off tonight, the pop-up boxes started again. (The pop-up boxes are still my sign-on screen and then the "rasautou.exe" box when I click on the x to close the sign-on screen. And back and forth, and back and forth.) I tried three times to sign back on and I keep getting this message: Yahoo! Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous. To see what data this error report contains, click here. Send Error Report - Don't Send When I click Don't Send, it signs me off. Right now, I am typing with the above box at the top of my screen. I am going to click Send Error Report and see what happens.

Added in edit:

Before making a log, click on "Config then "Misc tools" and check both boxes under "Generate startup list log"

That'll give us a bigger picture of what may be happening.

Then click "OK"

In the window that comes up on the screen, scroll down to, and <double-click>

Remote Access Auto Connection Manager

If the "Startup type" is "automatic", change it to "manual".

Try setting it to "disable".

If that causes other problems, change it back to "manual".
