Sorry, used older version for scan #2 This time I used the newer version of HJT for this log above.
Please unzip Hijack this by a right click on the zipped folder click extract all here. Then delete the folder with the zipper on it .And post another log
If you run it out of a compressed file, like a zip file, instead of running it from a directory, the backups will not be made

Working on log now ;)

Please read some or all of these

Dear Little Eagle,
Here is the log per your instructions in your post at 06:57 pm Sep 11. I have a feeling it is identical to the log I posted prior to your instruction and request for this log. I am now going to follow your next set of instructions, ie reboot in safe mode, remove the prorams you suggest (which are the ones my son downloaded
that started this whole mess), have HJT fix the suggested items and find and delete the hidden files and folders. I'll post the new scan and let you know how the
computer is working after this is done. By the way THANK YOU very much for your help.
Bill Kelly

Dear Little Eagle,
Here is the latest log after I did as instructed, however, I could not find "GMT and CMEII" in 'Add/Remove Programs'. Likewise after removing the program p2p networking, I could not find O4-HKLM\…\RUN: [P2P NETWORKING].
The machine seems to be running faster now. ;) :D Thanx again
 log looks clean :wavey:

Please read through the ideas and free software listed below that will help to keep your computer clean.
Some of these you may have install or may have done already.

Install a firewall.ZoneAlarm FREE

Ensure that an Antivirus is updated weekly and running. AVG antivirus from Grisoft is a very good FREE antivirus program.

Make sure you have the latest critical updates from windows update.

SpywareBlaster will prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 known 'bad' sites into your IE restricted zone so that they cannot install malware on your PC.

Google toolbar has a very good built in popup blocker with a nice search bar. To provide privacy, select disable advanced features when installing.

Check your system for latest virus definitions with an online virus scan.
TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan

Check your system for latest trojan definitions with an Online trojan scan

And also see this link for additional security information.
So how did I get infected in the first place?

Please consider using Firefox
http://texturizer.net/firefox/index.html

Do not let any site install anything if you do not know what it is.
Thanks for all your help. Will install some of the anti-spyware stuff. Hope you enjoy what is left of this weekend. Bill Kelly ;) :wavey: ps one minor issue, the recycle bin icon shows it contains something but is empty when opened.
Run System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip
Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"
New Problem. Actually it has been occurring from time to time for a while but I hoped it would go away when I cleaned up the log.I'll get an error message that a program has 'performed an illegal operation then the desktop will go white and I'll be prompted to restore the Active Desktop. Any ideas?
