Here's how to post a Hijack This log

Download "HijackThis" here
When downloading, choose "save to disk" and NOT open!

Now create a new folder for it, C:\Hijackthis, for example.
After unzipping the file. to C:\Hijack This, you'll end up with the file itself, which is Hijackthis.exe, and that's the one you'll need to doubleclick.'

When the program launches, hit the "Scan" button
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, and save the log anywhere you like.

Now if you doubleclick the log file.Go to Edit > Select all, then to Edit > copy.
Now you've copied the entire text to the Windows Clipboard (this happens behind your back.)

Next, go back to this forum thread, and click "Add Reply".
In an empty area click your RIGHT mouse button, and choose 'Paste' from the context menu.
There's your Hijack This log.

Then Download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.

Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Hello and thank you little eagle,

Have performed all as requested with exceptions (listed) and here is the new log.
Fixed all RO etc
no wild tangent folder found and did not see reference to 04-glbal startup. Did find 137930.exe file and deleted.
The search200 toolbars still appear and the bottom one remains even after IE is closed.

HijackThis is in a zip file.
If you run it out of a compressed file, like a zip file, instead of running it from a directory, the backups will not be made.

Please unzip Hijack this by a right click on the zipped folder click extract all here. Then delete the folder with the zipper on it

Hello DCMCNEILLY,

For the following file, I want to make sure it's not a valid system file before removing it. Right click on it and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Flaw delete comp 64\tray book.exe

If it's from some name you never heard of or if it's blank, delete it also.

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

hi little eagle,

the toolbar is gone but IE defaulted to the http://search200.com/ page although there were no graphics or letters, just colored areas on the page. i did not find the tray book.exe file where you had indicated but i did find it in windows/prefetch and the file name was followed by a dash and 8 or 9 numbers. when i checked properties version was not available. i did not delete it as there were maybe two dozen similarly name dfiles in the folder and they had all been created today about the same time as when i applied SP2. also all the various game icons (casino, travel, etc.) reappeared on desktop, i have deleted them many times in the past but they are back. i looked at properties on a few of them and they all start with the IE full path in quotes and then seemingly random letters.

Hi little eagle,
Sorry to take so long in responding but the scans took quite a while and work, etc.
HOuse call found TROJ MOJIAL.A adn could not repair but it allowed the option of deleting which I did. The location shown was, C:\System Volume Information\_restore{OA438C3B-A487-4C6D-850C-C76CC3327FDO}\RP909\A0086226.dll

Etrust found no viruses.

Panda found and removed 36 viruses.
