Bought a brand new computer yesterday. Hooked it up. Everything was fine for the first hour. Had a trial version of Norton Anti Virus… Downloaded AVG and AD-Aware because it worked GREAT with my old computer. A hour after I was on the internet (before I actually installed the AVG and AD-Aware, cause Norton's was working) a Virus popped up from Norton's telling me to pay some money and they would fix it. Instead I installed AVG and Ad-Aware. Found all kinds of Virus's and Trojan Horses.
ex: pegasusstudios (when I open up IE 25 windows pop up to this address)
Claria
BackWeb
Unkonwn BHO
trojan horse PSW.Briss.C
Alexa
to name a few….. Gets rid of them until I shut down or restart then they come right back…. Here is my log file for today….. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated……

Oh yeah. sorry I'm forgetful… HJT is in it's own folder but when I go to run it, it says it is in a temp folder… but really it is not….. if that makes any sense…
Hello there……….

Sorry I posted this at the wrong message….. geesh….. again…. sorry bout that……..

I have done all that was posted except for the last step of downloading of:
System Security Suit
I have not done this yet because things were a little different and I'm not sure if I should still do this…
I checked all that you said to check…. when I rebooted in safe mode and looked for the 2 files to delete
C:\WINDOWS\System32\soundblaster.exe<< C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE<< they were no where to be found……
Here is the new Hijack log……..

Thanks so much for you help…… the computer does seem to be running better though I have a file that keeps popping up on my desktop
the name of it is is just…
~
and I have no idea if that is normal for XP or if it is something that should not be there………

Anymore input would be greatly appreciated…….

Always,
Terri Lynne
I don't see a fire wall. Install this one if you don't have oneZoneAlarm FREE

Then Download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip
Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
