My client's computer is infected with spyware / malware. I have followed all instructions that I can find for similar cases, but to no avail. (i.e. Spybot S&D, AdAware, virus scan, etc>) Below is my HJT log.

Greetings and welcome to TomCoyote.org!

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
MOVE HijackThis into this folder.

If required a tutorial is here = Hijackthis Folder Tutorial

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This! and fix these items:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…rch/search.html

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {467FAEB2-5F5B-4c81-BAE0-2A4752CA7F4E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\29rt0hw1ixxfc.dll

O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Network Security Guard] C:\WINDOWS\System32\8elrg2awuv2.exe

Reboot in "safe" mode. Use the link in my signature to tell you how if necessary.

Find and delete:

c:\windows\system32\29rt0hw1ixxfc.dll <— file

c:\windows\system32\8elrg2awuv2.exe <— file

winlogin.exe <— file
(Use windows explorer to find)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!!

DO NOT ACCIDENTALLY DELETE A NECESSARY SYSTEM FILE!!!!!!

C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe <— KEEP!!!

winlogin.exe <— DELETE!!!

PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

Some malware files may be "hidden". Use the link in my signature to explain how to show "hidden" files if necessary.

Reboot in normal mode and post a new log file. :)
