Go here and run online scans (all), allow them to delete whatever they find:

TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan
Note any thing that can't be fixed
Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.

Then Download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip
Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"

reboot and post another log.

OSU-NMS - OSU Network Monitoring System, are you using this server???
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 192.168.100.11
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = ;localhost;
OK, Here's where we're at so far. I ran the AV's, The first did not find anything. etrust found nethv32.dll (win32.wintrim.u) and uninstall .exe (win32.wintrim.o).
Panda found 3 files but did not tell me what they were. I ran panda again and it found nothing that time. NOTE: of interest, Etrust said it scanned about 79K files, Panda said it scanned about 180K files.

They did not say they couldn't fix anything.
I don't know how to answer the last question you asked concerning the server I connect from. However I do know that I connect from 202.128.22.206

My computer is running at about the same speed (which is pretty good) but the one hijack to hotlivegirls appears to be fixed. The other popups I don't know yet they were usually random. Another thing is when I'm shutting down my computer it gives me some errors and "end now" for some programs. After I complete my homework here I'll let you know if its still doing it. Another note, My NORTON Firewall was popping up alerts for outside computers trying to access my machine about 2-3 time per minute on average. That seems to have subsided somewhat but right now I have my firewall disabled.

Here is a copy of my latest log and I'm off to do the items in the second post.

Thank you for all your help.

OK,
Everything seems to be running well. The SGTray.exe still does not shutdown by itself on reboot but the CCAPP.exe doesn't show up anymore. I've turned my norton firewall back on and it isn't telling me that someone is trying to access my computer every 10 seconds. It's curious to me why my norton antivirus didn't find anything but the other two did. Well here is my final log following all your instructions.
Thank you very very much and I will check back for the next step if there is one.

I got another pop up a few minutes ago while trying to get here. And I can't access this site anymore if my firewall is turned on. (norton) So far I'm not very happy with this symantic program….
Also there was another program that didn't want to shut down on reboot. tfswctrl.exe
And a few programs (Norton logviewer) stopped responding and task manager end now will not close the program.

Thank you

Here is the latest log.

So far I'm not very happy with this symantic program….

Did you pay for it or was it install wen you bought the PC.

It's curious to me why my norton antivirus didn't find anything but the other two did.

May have ont been updated, or not configured right.

O3 - Toolbar: hp toolkit - {B2847E28-5D7D-4DEB-8B67-05D28BCF79F5} - C:\HP\EXPLOREBAR\HPTOOLKT.DLL

This one can be removed with Hijack this. Not really bad.
Hi, Little eagle.
Well let's see. While you were gone I did some diddling. Anyway, I installed and ran adaware, spybot, spywareblaster, and security suite. I also ran all these in safe mode. Also I still can't figure out how to configure my firewall so it will let the system run, so I have disabled it and am running the WINDOWS Firewall. I'm still running all of the other norton features. I uninstalled Norton and reinstalled it hoping that I could reset the firewall rules but they came back the same.
As for Norton, I bought it in November of 03 and have it on live update, the last update was on the 21st of august.

Also the sgtray.exe program continues to not close when shutting down. This is associated with something called veritas storage guard which I don't even know what it does. This program tries to access support.com. I was on a COX network when I lived in CA so maybe it has something to do with that.

I ran panda again and all came up clean.

The files that you asked me to delete (sysupd.exe and mslagent.exe) were not found on my computer and I do have it set up to allow hidden files and system files. However there is a folder and file named MSAGENT. (I left it alone)

I do have microsoft office starting up in the startup section of msconfig. I read somewhere that that is a mistake, but when I tried to uncheck it, it seemed to affect my system so I put it back until I get better advice on how to take it out.

It is midnight sunday night here so I'm going to bed and future comms will probably be a day at a time so here is my latest log and I'll talk to you soon. Thank you very much for all of your help.

little eagle, I'm sorry but I don't know how to tell. I'm on Guam and use a cable modem the company name of the cable is KUENTOS. If you could tell me how to tell what network servers i use?

Under my TCP/IP properties I find that server under
alternate configuration tab if i select user configured. however I normally have it set to automatic. and when i play a game that i normally play it shows "connected from [removed]" so I always thought that was my server.

Thank you
Seems to be running pretty well. Thank You.
I'd like to clean out my startup files but I don't know what is safe to take out.

I can't run my Norton firewall, it won't even let me get to my homepage or this page. but I am running the windows firewall.

On the last reboot it did not have a problem shutting down. I wonder if that is because the veritas storage guard had a chance to update while I had the firewalls disabled?

I'd like to clean out my startup files but I don't know what is safe to take out.

Now that you have Spybot, Start Spybot click mode make sure that advanced mode is checked.
Click tools>system startup to the right is a double arrow bar click it to expand.
Now clicking on the value you will get a discription of command line.
Remove the green check mark on the ones in the database status that are not "Typically not required"
Should you decide that you need or want them just place a checkmark back in the box.
Any of unknown status can be unchecked one by one reboot, this completes the change.

I can't run my Norton firewall, it won't even let me get to my homepage or this page. but I am running the windows firewall.

Thats about useless.
Install this firewall.ZoneAlarm FREE

On the last reboot it did not have a problem shutting down. I wonder if that is because the veritas storage guard had a chance to update while I had the firewalls disabled?

 really don't know :o
