The computer have been hickjacked really bad as I was getting blank pages, popups, explorer behaving badly, slower computer, and finally took control of computer. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

I've done so far:

1. Research on the web, including reading the FAQs here.

2. Ran PeperFix and reboot

3. Ran CWShredder.exe – run and hit fix and reboot

4. Ran Spybot - scan and fix and reboot

5. Ran Ad-Aware multiple times, until it's running with no critical issues and reboot

6. Ran Spybot S&D again until it has no critical issues and reboot

7. Deleted all .tmp files, cookies, and porn favorites.

8. Deleted all references to "f**k" in the registry.

9. Ran HJT to generate a log.

I followed your instructions stated in your note, and after enabling I found appmgmts.exe file, I zipped and sent it to this address [removed] Any help will be really appreciated, Teresa
Hi Daemon, done what you told me and I guess have mix results…the advertising page doesn't appear anymore but a popup did…this small window was blank…hmm don't know if was completely removed…waiting for any instructions, and again sincerely gratefully! Teresa
Daemon, I just got a reply from my outlook mail server telling me that the email I sent you could not be delivered: "This message has been processed by Brightmail® Anti-Virus using Symantec's AntiVirus Technology. appmgmts.exe was infected with the malicious virus Trojan.Adwaheck and has been deleted because the file cannot be cleaned." I can try to send it using my alternative hotmail address…not sure if will go thru but let me try… Teresa
I deleted from my system…here is new log: Thanks!!!!

Hi That looks OK now - are you still having problems? Do you recognise this: FriendFinder Messenger - is it an Instant Messenger?
OK, if you have deleted it then fix this entry in your HJT log (if still there):

O4 - Startup: FriendFinder Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\FriendFinder Messenger\FriendFinder Messenger.exe

Fix this for now also - you can restore it later:

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Is the pop-up an IE window? I'm going to have you run a couple of scans for me. There are no specific symptoms of these infections in your log - I just want to make sure.

Click here to download DllCompare. Start the Program with and click the Run Locate.com - be sure the \Windows\System32 directory is in the box and wait until the the blue text says it has 'completed the scan'.

Click the Compare button to start the next process. The results appear in two panes - files in the upper pane have been verified to 'exist', files in the lower pane were 'not able to be accessed'. Very few files should be listed in the lower pane when the Compare scan is complete. Click on each of the listed entries in the lower pane to select them. Right-click on the file and use the option Rescan. This will cause Windows Find to see if the file does exist, and then if so it will be removed from the list to reduce the number of identified files.

Click the Make a Log of what was found button and post the log here

Click here to download the VX2Finder.exe tool. Click on the VX2Finder.exe and then click on the Click to Find VX2.Betterinternet button. It will display the files, the Guardian Key and User Agent string. Now click the Make Log button. It will open the log in notepad. Copy and paste that log here
Wow…very impressive your instructions… well, I fixed the entry in my HJT log as it was still appearing. Then ran the two processes you've identified. Here are the logs: * DLLCompare Log version(1.0.0.125) Files Found that Windows does not See or cannot Access *Not everything listed here means you are infected! ________________________________________________ O^E says: "There were no files found :)" ________________________________________________ 1,007 items found: 1,007 files, 0 directories. This one is hiding well. I'm going to remove some DPF's that I don't recognise - with only HJT running, have it fix:

O16 - DPF: {A48D0309-8DA3-41AA-98E4-89194D471890} (Pulse V5 ActiveX Control) - http://www.pulse3d.com/players/english/5.0…layer5AxWin.cab
O16 - DPF: {A7EA8AD2-287F-11D3-B120-006008C39542} (CBSTIEPrint Class) - http://offers.e-centives.com/cif/download/bin/actxcab.cab

Reboot when done, then install the programs in the links below:

SpywareBlaster
IE-SPYAD

Also could you use HJT to produce a start-up list log (Config>Misc tools and check the two boxes under the button). Post it in your next reply.

Let me know how you got on.
