Computer is running at a snails pace, is locking up continuously, I am having problems with email (have to run Spybot before I can use Outlook Express.)Everyday I remove spyware and keep getting more. One day, while trying to access the internet, I watched the address line speedily go through about 50 addresses (I think I was being hijacked). I hit the stop button on Zone Alarm. Tons of spyware after that incident. Also, I noticed from time to time the Norton Anitvirus icon on my bottom bar has a X through it. Also, after this, everytime I ran Ad-Aware, pc would shut down (I finally installed new version of adaware)Some pop ups. Have "Cash Back" Dog Icon on botom bar.

I read FAQ
I ran Ad-Aware (checked for updates)
I ran Spybot S & D (check for updates)
I installed the newest version of HiJack this today and then copied the following log:

Thank you for helping me! I have done all of the above. While I was connected to internet explorer to delete temp files, the strange thing that I mentioned previously happened (files appeared to be loading/flashing on the address line). When it finished, I had error message of no page to display. (At this point I ran adaware and spybot s & d as this fixed the problem last time. It find nothing in Spybot and Roings in Adaware. But that did not solve my internet connection problem. Also, on start up, I get a message saying that Norton Anti-virus is not protecting my emal.

Another thing to mention, when I was in safe mode to delete suggested items, I saw folders that had uninstall for cash back and navisearch. (These did not show up in the add/remove list on the control panel). Should I use the uninstall features in this folder?

Here is my new log:

Another thing to mention, when I was in safe mode to delete suggested items, I saw folders that had uninstall for cash back and navisearch. (These did not show up in the add/remove list on the control panel). Should I use the uninstall features in this folder?

Not sure if they get rid of all the folders

Close all Browser and Program Windows and have HijackThis fix the following by checking the box beside each and then clicking on Fix checked.

Reboot afterwards in SAFE MODE. If you don't know how click here
Delete the following files and folder listed

TV Media
WildTangent
CashBack
NaviSearch

Some of these files and folders might have the hidden atribute
How to show hidden files and folders in Windows Instructions here

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
The latest log is listed below. Still no internet connection. We called Roadrunner who checked their end of our internet connection and everything checked out fine (I am also on another PC connected to the same connection and it is working fine.

I had HiJack fix the items you suggested. I was able to delete Cash Back and NaviSearch but could not locate TV Media or Wild Tangent. I did a search in safe mode for Wild and for Tangent and it did not pull up the wildtangent file. I also did a search for TV and for media and could not locate a TV Media file. I did find a Try Media file which I did not touch but I deleted a Wild Arcade file. (I made sure that all hidden files were showing according to your instructions)

Computer seems to be running much smoother, however, I won't know for sure until I am on the internet.

In looking over my Add/Remove programs, earlier I came across a Program called "Deal Helper". (Sounds suspicious). It is 1,913 MD I am unable to install this. Error message reads "installation log file not found!" Are you familiar with DealHelper?
You are running windows XP which allows you to move to a old restore point before the infection. See if you have a restore point about a week before that. To do that hit Start>control panel>Preformanceand Manintence>System Restore click restore my computer to an earlier time. This may cause the infected files to return. But you may get your Internet connection back.
Yea! The internet connection is back. I am going to go back to the beginning of your advice, re-remove everything and then I will send a new log. You are very helpful!
Here we go! I have ran Ad-Aware and Spybot S & D (I checked for updates on both prior to running). Here is my current log:

C:\Program Files\WildTangent
C:\Program Files\CashBack
C:\Program Files\NaviSearch

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
So far, so good. The computer is feeling a little better, still a wee bit slow. Removed NaviSearch and Cash Back folders. Wild Tangent was not there. I did do a search for it and it lead me to the programs/download. It would not let me delete it and said to go to add and remove. In add and remove, it told me it could not locate it and should it be removed from list message appeared.

Before my restore, I had removed an old version of Trustix Firewall and have been living with a start-up message on my screen about renewing the license. Now the screen is still there but the words are jumbled and mixed with what looks like another screen. I don't think this is too big of a deal, based on the other problems we have had. I tried to uninstall it in Add/Remove, nothing happens.

Here is my latest log:
