I'm being over taken by pop-ups. I have a google toolbar blocker and another pop-up blocker but they do not stop the pop-ups. Thanks for your help.

Hi LDI :)
Hijack This! has just updated to 1.98.1. You can update your version by opening the program, click on 'config', then 'misc tools', then 'check for update online'.
You can also download it from here.

Next, make a permanent folder for HJT. Backups can't be made running from the unzipped state it's in right now.

Here's how to make a folder:
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it.

If you haven't scanned with Ad-aware 6.0 and Spybot s&d, please download and update both of them. "Fix' everything that Ad-aware finds, but only the RED pre-checked items that Spybot finds:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
make the following changes to the settings in Ad-aware.
-Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:
Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives…

Spybot S&D…Please read the tutorial:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/…utorial=43
http://www.safer-networking.org/

Reboot…

Run a couple of online virus scans and a free trojan scan. Make sure system restore is disabled (how to):
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/D…estore.htm

Online virus scans:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan…=PR-AS-107

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/

Online Trojan scan:
http://www.trojanscan.com/trojanscan/trojanscan.htm

Reboot after running the virus/trojan scans.

Next, download CWshredder from here go offline to run it. Click on "FIX" (not scan) and let it fix everything it finds. Click 'next' then 'exit'.

Rescan with the updated HJT, close browser/explorer windows, check these items, then click 'fix checked':

Reboot into safe mode (how to):
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…src=sec_doc_nam

Show hidden files and folders (how to):
http://tinyurl.com/2trnb

Find and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe

C:\WINDOWS\System32\atttwiz.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cpelt1.exe

Reboot, go into Internet Options - General tab. Delete temporary internet files, and choose to delete all Offline content. Also, go to Start - Find - Files or folders - in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit - select all - File - delete. Hi again, LDI
There are still a couple of things yet to fix. You're HJT is in a temporary directory…backups can't be made and saved there. It's important to put the program in it's own folder. Follow the directions at the beginning of my first post to you.

Did you recognize this as yours?:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{EDD834D8-8E33-476D-B7D6-3EDBBAF39333}: NameServer = 10.10.10.237,10.10.10.144

Close browser/explorer windows and rescan with HJT. Fix these items:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kekbjoaflzb] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wfjdjvan.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)

Reboot into safe mode (show hidden files and folders)…find and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wfjdjvan.exe

Reboot and post a new log :)
Thanks again Jacee :wavey:

Ok……

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{EDD834D8-8E33-476D-B7D6-3EDBBAF39333}: NameServer = 10.10.10.237,10.10.10.144
I do recognize this. This is my network information.

I have one question…Do I need to reset the settings for my computer now that I have cleaned up the items you told me to? By the settings I mean: "Setting System Restore to Disabled" and "Show Hidden Files and Folders"?

Here is the current log….
