You might want to take a look at this article re nvdisplay.container.exe and also consider stopping the Plex Media Server service as it requires a lot of cpu power. Also an error was logged:

The Serviio service terminated unexpectedly

Another media server.

I think you'll find that this is more a 'Windows' isuue rather than malware, (which amazes me considering you are dicing with computer-death by constantly using torrents).

Having looked again at your logs, I'm sure that your computer has no malware issues and suggest that you ask for advice in the Windows forum.

Let me know if you're happy with that.

Oh wow I had no idea I still had Serviio on my system. That was something I tried prior to Plex but found Plex to be the media server I wanted to use with the most effecient features. So i can deffinitly remove that. I am not using it at all.

Yes I am well aware of the security risks with torrents, how ever I don't normally have issues with maleware related to torrents. I download mostly from private tracker websites and i don't ever download stuff like cracks, keygens, programs or anything like that. I normally use it for Media and in most cases japanese anime or foriegn films. That being said, I know that even if your using protected sites, you can never be sure that you won't get infected because like you said, p2p software opens up a tunnel from the client machine to yours and it allows maleware and viruses to travel like a vehicle. Its like a security exploit for viruses even if the person you are downloading from does not have the intention of infecting you. it still happens. So yes i do acknowledge this but i take the risks. Usually i don't have many issues, i mean the last time I was here was quite a few years ago. But i do get infected from time to time. On the other hand it could be something entirely different that infects my system. Some times i search software and accidently download the wrong software and that could cause infection as well. The main thing is I do want to have the best security and usually use a combination of a single AV software, certain plugins like noscript, ublock origin and web of trust to help me with safely browsing the internet as well as block many of the adds where alot of malicious files can be downloaded into your machine.

So when i leave here, I do want to make sure that I am well protected with good effecient security software that does not use up to many cpu resources. In the past I used Avast premium how ever I didn't like it as much because i found that it came with alot of unecessary tracking software and bloatware that prevented me from ejecting my usb devices. Additionally it was pretty taxing to my system. People have told me that Mcafee is a really good AV software to use but I have not tried that yet.

You're right about that. I see so much 'bundled' software and infections from those who have googled a programme and downloaded it from the result at the top of the search. FileHippo is the best download site in my opinion and now that cnet have cleaned up their act, that is also fine.

You don't need 3rd-party antivirus, (AV). Avast doesn't have good results in tests and McAfee is bloated. Windows Security, (Windows Defender), is as good an antivirus as there is. I use that and Windows firewall plus Malwarebytes, (Mbam), Premium and have never had any problems. Also, I still have an old Windows 7, (using it now), and have Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows firewall and Malwarebytes on this too - again, no problems.

If you must use a third party AV, then there is nothing better than Kaspersky. BitDefender is also good, (until you try to get it off your system).

Sometimes users have too much clogging up their systems when only an AV, firewall and a specialist tool, (Mbam, run weekly), are all you need.

Also, beware of all the 'telemetry' on your system. Nvidia are one of the worst for 'phoning home', but pretty-much everything is guilty of it now.

Hope this helped.

Let me know if you're ready to tidy up.

Thank you for such great advice. I will consider Kaspersky then as an extra level of security for a 3rd party firewall. I also used Malewarebytes premium in the past and it worked pretty well. One feature i do like with Avast though is the clean-up utility that fixes broken registerys and removes unwanted files from your C drive. Every time I run that, it seems to give a boost to my PC performance. So if there is another Utility that i can use just kind of on a regular bases similar to that one that avast uses, that would be a good thing to have as well. Like a PC performance check that scans for outdated drivers, broken registrys, shortcuts and cleans up unwanted files.

Um one more thing I wanted to add. I do generally use bleeping Computer for all my virus cleaning and security tools. Occasionally though certain software that isn't available on bleeping computer i download else where instead.

I generally use a VPN software because I don't like to be monitored or tracked by my ISP and I don't want other software on my computer sending requests to my ISP and spying. Avast for example was caught sending click information to third party companies that was identified in their log reports. I can't stand how some companies violate the act of client privace and compromize your security. Some AV software is even loaded with certain pups that some of my other security tools has picked up which obvously cases a huge security breach. This kind of practice is just candalous and violates the rights of everyone's privacy. In any case so yeah consequently I am a bit more careful about what kind of software i use for a single layer of firewall software security. But i also want to be able to give access to my specific programs so they run un-hindered.

One feature i do like with Avast though is the clean-up utility that fixes broken registerys and removes unwanted files from your C drive.

You have RevoUninstaller and that removes all registry files and entries when a programme is uninstalled. Any programme that promises to fix 'broken' registry keys and clean up your pc I wouldn't let near my computers. Also, I think it is a 'placebo' effect that allows you to think your pc is better after running a clean-up utility, (unless you computer is 20+ years old and overflowing with data and programmes). Avast should not be seen on a Windows 10 pc as the operating system has the capacity to do those things.

I will consider Kaspersky then as an extra level of security for a 3rd party firewall.

You cannot run more than one firewall and Windows firewall is perfectly adequate.

Occasionally though certain software that isn't available on bleeping computer i download else where instead.

Like what?

That time again - will speak tomorrow.

Um usually encoding/decoding software or AV software that is not available on bleeping computer. Most of my virus related tools are always avaialble on bleeping computer. But i do alot of other things as well on my Computer, like using alot of video editing software, decrypting and encoding software, graphic editing, etc.

Ok well i think that is all for now then. I believe I am clean and you gave me some great advice to follow. So if i decide to use a third AV, ill use Kaskpersky but obvously with out windows defender other wise I will just stick with windows defender and most likely purchase a premium for Malewarebytes again since that seemed to worked very well in the past.

I believe I am clean and you gave me some great advice to follow.

Glad I could help.

Your computer appears to be clean. Now that it seems to be running well, please follow these steps to tidy up and decrease the likelihood of getting infected again:

Uninstall FRST

  • right-click on FRST.exe/FRST64.exe and select Rename
  • rename the file to Uninstall.exe
  • double-click on Uninstall.exe – this will uninstall FRST

===================================================

Uninstall AdwCleaner

  • open adwcleaner.exe
  • click on Settings
  • click on the Application tab and scroll down to the bottom
  • click on Remove.

===================================================

Uninstall remaining programmes

To check for any leftover installed tools press the Windows Key + R at the same time, then type appwiz.cpl then Enter.

You can uninstall any other clean-up programmes you used that still remain:

You can also delete all other logs and programmes we’ve used that are on your desktop. Just click on them and press Delete.

===================================================

Recommended

Update and run Malwarebytes. This really is an excellent program that you should update and run on a regular basis, probably weekly.

===================================================

I will keep this open for 24 hours in case you have any problems, after which I’ll close the topic.

Well my browsers not connecting again. This seems to be an issue with google chrome it self and not the internet. Everything else seems to be working find. I try different browsers and there is no issues.

Basically the webpage is timing out and its not able to establish a connection to the URL.

Additionally when i shut down google chrome and try to launch it again, it fails to launch unless i do a complete reset of my system. This has consistently been happening in the last few weeks and at first I thought it was a virus but its most likely a software issue with the browser it self. I even tried updating google chrome and reinstalling a new version, but it still happens.

There is no malware that could be causing this but I've heard of this being an issue after the Windows 1909 update. Your best bet is to ask in the Windows forum as I don't use chrome and wouldn't be able to advise.

If it doesn't get resolved in the Windows forum PM me and I'll re-open the thread.

Ok i will do that. Incidentally some of my games and other software on my desktop were not launching as well, then after I restarted the machine, they suddenly all worked. This almost sounds like a registry corruption to me or possible files corrupted with the windows operating system it self.

You should not allow any programme to mess about with the registry as there is no so-called 'optimiser' that can do that without the risk of breaking something. I'd ditch Ccleaner if I were you.

some of my games and other software on my desktop were not launching as well

You may need to change compatibility settings but again, the Windows forum is where to ask.

Satchfan

You're welcome.

I'll close this now but PM within the next 3 days if you suspect a malware issue. After that time, please start a new topic.
