And can you still open Gmail with Chrome and IE?

Yes.  The browser's are just slow.  For security, Gmail sends me a text to my smart phone with three numbers and asks me to enter the numbers but then doesn't recognize the number...

Not sure what to suggest. If Chrome and IE let you access Gmail (even if slow), then it would seem Brave is faulty. As far as Gmail not recognizing your 2FA (two factor authentication) numbers and your computer is running normally otherwise, then it would seem the problem is on google's end.

Does your computer run fine otherwise?

What version of Windows? Is it fully updated?

Have you scanned for malware?

Yes - though chrome and IE have been running slow; which is why I switched to Brave.

Version 10, version 1703

yes I have scanned.

Not sure what to say. I just installed Brave. While Brave itself seems to take awhile to load compared to my default, Pale Moon, and Chrome and IE, I was able to log into my Gmail accounts with Brave with no problems.

Have you cleaned out the clutter with Windows Disk Cleanup or CCleaner?
