Hard disk space reducing and computer lag

Hi,

Every few days my Hard disk space keeps going lower - I am not downloading or adding any files. Also my computer lags from time to time.

Press the Fix button.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

• Right-click on AdwCleaner.exe and select [external image: Spcusrh.png]Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users)
• Accept the EULA (I accept), then click on Scan

• Let the scan complete. Once it's done, make sure that every item listed in the different tabs is checked and click on the Clean button. This will kill all active processes

• Once the cleaning process is complete, AdwCleaner will ask to restart your computer, do it
• After the restart, a log will open when logging in. Please copy/paste the content of that log in your next reply

• Download the right version of RogueKiller for your Windows version (32 or 64-bit)
• Once done, move the executable file to your Desktop, right-click on it and select [external image: Spcusrh.png]Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users)
• Click on the Start Scan button in the right panel, which will bring you to another tab, and click on it again (this time it'll be in the bottom right corner)
• Wait for the scan to complete
• On completion, the results will be displayed
• Check every single entry (threat found), and click on the Remove Selected button
• On completion, the results will be displayed. Click on the Open Report button in the bottom left corner, followed by the Open TXT button (also in the bottom left corner)
• This will open the report in Notepad. Copy/paste its content in your next reply

Please download the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware setup file to your Desktop.

• Open mbam-setup.x.x.xxxx.exe (x represents the version #) and follow the prompts to install the programme.
• Windows Vista, Windows 7 , 8, 8.1 and 10 : Right click and select "Run as Administrator"

  Install the progam and select update.

• Go to the Setting Tab
• Under Setting go to Detection and Protection
• Under PUP and PUM make sure both are set to show Treat Detections as Malware
• Go to Advanced setting and make sure Automatically Quarantine Detected Items is checked
• Then on the Dashboard click on Scan
• Make sure to select THREAT SCAN
• Then click on Scan
• Note: You may see the following message, "Could not load DDA driver". Click Yes, allow your PC to reboot and continue afterwards.
  If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button. You will now be prompted to reboot. Click Yes.
  Upon completion of the scan (or after the reboot), click the Reports tab.
  Double-click the Scan Log.
  At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.
  
  Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.
  
  You can access the logs by going in the "Reports" tab, clicking on the latest "Scan" entry (the one with detections), then clicking on the "Export" button in the bottom-left corner and select "Copy to clipboard". After that, all you have to do is paste it here
  
  

How is the computer now?

Hello

 

I copy pasted the text into FRST, but then I hit scan instead of Fix - so I then hit Fix after the Scan completed.

Then I redid the process and copy-pasted the text, but only hit Fix.

 

This makes it 2 times, I don't understand why 3 is showing.

Is this an up-graded computer?
Was it once a Windows 7-8 and Microsoft upgraded to Windows 10?, or it can apply to a commputer that has been reformatted.
In my mind we see that folder when a computer has been upgraded = reformatted. Myself, and I don't have anything to back my thoughts on this is, keep it (or any folder named Windows).

Read over the below article from Microsoft and use the disk cleanup tool that should be on your computer.

• Download the Emsisoft Emergency Kit and execute it. From there, click on the Install button to extract the program in the EEK folder;

• After the restart, open EEK again (in the C:\EEK folder);
• This time, click on Logs;
• From there, go under the Quarantine Log tab, and click on the Export button;
• Save the log on your desktop, then open it, and copy/paste its content in your next reply.

I used the disk clean up to remove old windows installation.

Also there were no malware detected and so no quarantine file.
