Hey, Firefox seems to be working now. It didn't load at first, then I opened Task Manager and selected End Process Tree to stop Firefox. Suddenly, the Firefox browser opened. I closed Firefox and then clicked on the Firefox desktop icon to see if it's open the browser, and it did. So I think we're all good now.
Except for that link being redirected to viglink. ![]()
oops. let me get back to you again with the result. sorry.
The scan finished but I can't find the log in the folder. It just says: Congratulations, no cleanup is required! Scan Finished: No Malware Found!
viglink isn't malicious, they say but from what I'm reading just a nightmare to get rid of.

Let's try to update Firefox to the latest version
click on the 3 horizontal bars at the top right corner
at the very bottom look for and click on the blue question mark
Then click on About Firefox
this will tell us if it's the most current.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Open your extensions/addons list and look through there to see if you can find any reference from this
see if something was installed about the same time as you started seeing the viglink.com status bar messages
We can try to do a search but I'm doubtful we'll find anything related to this.
Let's give it a go
How to Automatically Clear Private Data When You Close Your Browser
let me know how how the computer is now.
So sorry for the late reply. Anyway, I haven't gotten around the adblockplus part yet for the viglink stuff. I'm thinking of doing it over the weekend. As for my Firefox browser uninstalling Avast from my laptop did the trick. Because the first time that I said Firefox browser was okay, it turns out it wasn't okay. After I restarted my laptop and Avast was enabled again, my Firefox browser didn't load. So I decide to uninstall it.
As for the take advantage and consider stuff, yes, I will do that too over the weekend. Really appreciate your help. Have a great day! ![]()
If you need help finding a new antivirus let me know.
OK, keep me updated.
Just an update, ABP didn't work for either Chrome or Firefox. My browser is still being redirected to viglink whenever I click on the link you provided (https://support.appl…/en-us/HT201262). I think viglink is embedded in the link itself, is that possible? It's just I guess. I really have no idea. It's just that when I copied the link for ABP (https://adblockplus….getting_started) the viglink link showed up in the address showed up but it didn't load. It continued loading ABP instead.
Darn it. I think it attached itself to all the links you provide (freaking out a bit, but still feeling fine). I clicked on one of the links (https://support.mozi…websites-stored) you provided under the "take advantage of and consider stuff" and the viglink link showed up in the address bar. However, the link didn't load and I got the message:
Service UnavailableThe service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.
Here is the link that showed up in the address bar:
