Your doing great so don't worry.

Let's use the computer today and see if any issues come up.

They might/ they might not,  we'll just have to see.  Then,  if it feels good and no alerts or issues we'll remove tools and quarantine folders.

Ok. I will let children play with it! HAHAHAHA (evil laughter)!

There is little I would even think about doing on this but I will see what I can do.

meanie

check to see that the antivirus can update

go to the tool bar,  search for Google and see if it can connect

just little things

On the right hand side I have what used to be on the bottom left of normal computers. I clicked the magnifying glass button and searched for google. Yes it did bring up google.

I don't think this thing has any antivirus software on it. I don't know. I do know it wants me to turn the firewall back on but if you and I are doing things that might interfere I would rather leave it off, till we're done.

have children playing school related games right now. Don't know what else to do really.

The boy tells me that chrome is kind of quirky. push the right and left arrows to move and little to nothing happens. I tried and he is correct. So I guess chrome is hanging up a bit?? I know I let the children play the same game on a windows XP that most of the time will not even boot up and if it is running this game faster, something must be wrong. It could be me too.

EDIT********

It appears as if everything works. I have done what I know to do. I wouldn't put my important info out on the thing but outside of that, I guess it is somewhat normal . ! ?

And upon hunting and looking around, I have found windows 10 updates that date back to april of this year.

lets do what we have to do! I am ready.

Will there be some last great piece of software that shows all good or do I take all is super clean on faith?

It's been cleaned but don't know if you can call it super cleaned!

I think it's still got some 'quirks' about it.

Does this mean we are done? I can bring it back and throw it at him? Is there anything I should do to make life better for him? Outside of telling him to leave the computer alone?

I know there used to be many settings one could do to make things be safer and more secure. Anymore? Just hunt and peck on those you just gave me above and learn from all that? Or so I shall tell him to read!

Ok, So let us pretend that I ran the eset online scanner again and I got the same results. only this time I found 6 infected files and not 8.

I reallly want to show a pic of what happens but I can't seem to load one here. Know of how?

I'd love to see what 6 files were found, if I can't read it on a screen capture can you write them down?

when you have the screen up,  on the keyboard look for PrntScr button that should capture the picture

Then

  • click the More Reply Options button in the lower right hand corner of the Reply to this topic section of the Post
  • In the lower left hand corner you should see a Browse button under Attach Files
  • Click the Browse button and a new window will open
  • Navigate to and double click on the file you want to attach
  • Once the file path is entered into the box click Attach This File
  • If successful, you will see the file name appear above Attach Files with a green check mark to the left
  • When you are done with your message and hit Reply the file will automatically be attached to your reply

I would like to know much of the same things you want to know!. Best I get is this in the end. I know a couple were in c windows something but I would have to re run and watch the path to hope I get something. This app freezes up and does just what you see!.📎what it says.jpg

ooops forgot
Please don't hit the poor man throwing his computer back at him!

As for the suggestions:
lol

depending on his computer use,  I would think a couple security tools that would not interfere with whats already on the computer:

AdBlock is a browser add-on that blocks annoying banners, pop-ups and video ads.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (MBAE) is designed to prevent zero-day malware from exploiting vulnerable software.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium (MBAM) works in real-time along side your Anti-Virus to prevent malware execution.
NoScript (If Java is installed) is a Firefox add-on that blocks the actions of malicious scripts by using whitelisting and other technology.
Secunia PSI will scan your computer for vulnerable software that is outdated, and automatically find the latest update for you.
Unchecky automatically removes checkmarks for bunlded software in programme installers; helping you avoid adware and PUPs.
Web of Trust (WOT) is a browser add-on designed to alert you before interacting with a potentially malicious website.

As for the screen print
It shows nothing where the files are located….actually could be any where.

You could try booting into safe mode with networking, go to the web site and try again…this way if it can complete we would know there was an application on the machine that was interfering.

point to ponder

they could had been files already in quarantine.
