I've got some annoying and persistent behavior using YouTube.  I am unable to paste from the clip-board into the discussion area.  I am able to type in this are, just not paste.  The inability to paste does not transcend to other web pages or software.  The key combination or right mouse click works to copy/paste everywhere except YouTube discussions.  Is there a way that the software can disable the procedure?  If so, is there something that I am able to do to be able to paste into the discussion?

Try using firefox and let us know how you get on

tried the procedure of about:config and button, next type "dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled although it wasn't type it, it was more like find it in the list and double clicked so now it reads false.  BTW the two commands were pasted here,  and in You tubediscussion area .Will this be a continuing problem that will need to fixed each time Youtube is opened?

Any help for IE?

Hi terryfelter,

1 the fix using firefox should be enduring
2 Have you tried it in Chrome …does it paste to You tube OK?
3 As to IE, try starting IE with no "add ons" and see if this does the trick, post back and let us know.

4 if no joy then do a "clean boot" and see if the paste works.
Here's how:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

5 Are you remembering to paste the text firstly into notepad (to strip out the formatting) and then copying it from notepad into You tube…?. note it must be notepad… Word will just add to formatting and that is not what is needed.
All best

It may be that this is a "security "issue that is stopping you pasting into You tube… I believe Facebook introduced a similar measure some time ago… but then reconsidered it due to the number of complaints received.

Maybe it's a similar situation?
Have you tried resetting IE back to default?
It might be worth a try.

Try here:

Tools
Internet Options
Advanced
Reset

Remove everything, but as always make sure that your back ups are reliable, comprehensive and contain everything you need…
I always tell my customers that anything less than 3 copies of the backups (with copies kept safe offsite on removable media) is not really a good back up.

Done, but Flash Player gone which will need to be re-installed and then enabled as I use a web site that requires  it running/enabled.  I'll reboot later before installing and see if any difference is noted

OK All understood:
Try opening the You tube page in compatibility mode on Internet Explorer 11 and see if this helps
Here's how taken from here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/internet-explorer-11-cannot-use-copy-paste-within/5b4489fc-9208-45d9-ac1d-b027fc494e7d?page=4&auth=1

You may try to open these website in compatibility view and then check the status. You may refer to the steps provided below to open the website in compatibility mode.
•Open Internet Explorer 11.
•Open the website which is giving you the error.
•Press alt key to open tool bar.
•Now click on tools.
•Then click on Compatibility view settings.
•You will the name of website under Add this website, so click on add to add this website.
•Close the window and now try to sign-in to the website.

If still no joy then its a question of waiting for an update to IE 11 from Microsoft( don't hold your breath!) or reverting to an earlier version( not recommended) or using Firefox or chrome to paste stuff to You Tube.
