Hi i upgraded windows to 10 yesterday and while i like it  i am having trouble with the Synaptics scrolling, usually i can go to settings and select how i like the scrolling and it works, not this time i have been on there a few times and adjusted the scrolling to my personal taste and when i start using my PC it just doesn't scroll for me and i have to use the up and down arrows on the side of the page, is anyone else having this problem since upgrading to Windows 10?  :wavey:

Check Device Manager and see if there is a problem with the touchpad (yellow mark). If there is go to the manufacturers web site and download the latest driver for it, see if that helps.

I checked that and all up to date , i have been through all the settings but can't enable the scrolling, it's very frustrating having to manually scroll.  :rant2:

Tried that also at least i now have the synaptics touchpad settings  due to an update windows sent, but no matter what i do i just can't get the scroll to work, all other things to do with Win 10 seem fine. Thanks for the help though. :adios:

Hi Leagyl,

Just to let you know as usual MS has RTM'd this out the window so just like any other versions there are going to be problems,  most will be from your vendor as their hardware may not be geared up to Windows 10 yet and it might be a waiting game for patches and updates just like MS on patch Tuesdays which will be going to one month updates only,  I know what a hassle but as long as you have the Free upgrade now give it a little time and I am sure you will be fixed,  it is not up to MS to solve vendor problems it is up to the vendor to change the coding or update to accomodate Windows 10…just saying.

Myself:

Windows 10 Beta Tester on the MS Insider Program and Gabe tells me there are going to be new builds coming out,  there is nothing that your vendor or anyone can do till the hardware has a new patch or update,  sometimes it is always good to just roll back to your previuos version of Windows when things are running smooth and as always…, back up,  back up,  back up

Edit:

This may already be posted here somewhere but if you have an OEM you need to get the Upgrade from you vendors support website and not through MS,  I have confirmed this through Dell support Tier 1, 2 and 3 levels as they will send you the Disk or have a place to download it from,  if you bypass that method and do not have a full retail of Windows 10 you will be denied Activation.

Hey I wish I could help you more and sorry for now,  but we do have to play the waiting game and this is only going to be the first of many issues to come beyond our control,  but if you do get it resolved make sure to post back and let eveyone know what you did :pullhair:

I should imagine there will be so many fix updates, i will wait patiently and when i have found a solution i will let you know Thankyou. cheers  :whistling:

Everyone will be fixed or my name is mud diddly   I have to back them up, you were fixed before right  :whistling:

Edit:

It may not be in the next week but soon after :whistling:

Hey any updates,  when I did updates for synaptics it was still a failed update as of yesterday but I do a wireless mouse anyway,  probably answered my own question to you :wall:  but you may want to check your computers website and see if they came up with anything yet, it has been over a week  :pullhair:
