Puzzle using Hexadecimal embedded in a Jpeg

Not sure where this belongs so putting it here:

I am a geocacher working on a D5 difficulty puzzle cache. I understand that the jpeg contained an embedded hex text.  I decoded that and found out that I need to so a 48 byte shift 5 bits to the right …. (top of decoded text).  What is throwing me is how to do that in hex and how does that relate to the questions with the names to figure out the new coordinates to find the cache.  Hope someone can point me in the right direction or give me a push ti figuring it out.

Attached is the original jpeg and the decoded hex in a text file.

Here is the text from the original cache page with work done so far:

Geocache Description:

All my life I have been drawn to cemeteries. I like to look at the memorials, both simple and grand, and wonder about the lives of those resting beneath. If you can judge a person by their headstone, there are many I would love to meet.

Please be respectful to those who are at rest here and to other visitors of the cemetery. Please follow cemetery rules at all times.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Finding the final will require more than just field work.

Go to the posted coordinates and use the clues to find the graves. Record the name that is found on the stone. Use the last name unless otherwise indicated. Everything you need can be found in the jpg below. The black rectangle represents the "playing field". Examine the jpg closely and you will see why my grandmother said you'll be hexed if you don't hold your breath while passing through a graveyard.

(jpeg is attached as is a hex file from it)

1. Five low, ancient stones all in a row. Among the five, who was the youngest to go? (first name)

2. I died in France but near the fence I now lie. I had a long journey home, didn’t I?

3. I'm one of the tallest, I point to the sky. A daughter was born and died in July. (first name)

4. Our stone is quite large with an anchor and cross. Our name is familiar from an era of loss.

5. In a stone house, copper coins at my door, my name is a pastime I enjoy no more.

6. The breed of a dog is on my grave. Look behind a tall bush and time you will save.

7. A stone bench for kneeling bears our name. How many stones in a row do the same? (the word)

8. A sphere above us stands the boldest. On its inscription, who died the oldest? (first name)

9. Just 10 years I lived, now I rest ‘neath a tree. On my last year I saw of September just three.

10. Single and Female and a doctor was I. In a stone square, alone I now lie. (first name)

As an informal way to check your field work, you will have 30 letters total for answers 1 through 5, and 37 letters total for answers 6 through 10.

Thanks for taking a look everyone.  I have since figured it out and went and found the cache today.  This item can be closed.

No wait!

What was the solution?  I tried a simple 5 bit shift and got gobbledy gook.  I don't know what to do with the 48 bytes or the starting at 0x109F (which I assumed was 4255 but meant nothing).

yes i'd like to know what you did too, tried figuring this out myself and got nowhere using okular on linux.

was going to spend more time on it later on in the week so would be very gratefull if you could explain or link to the steps you used to solve this, i love puzzles and it really frustrates me when i can't solve them.
