ok what about the clean up of the tools installed leave them or delete them??
We can remove most of them and if they send you back here and we need them again we can download clean fresh copies
Thanks Ken for your help and efforts to fix this, was worth a shot bt I kinda glad it not an infection but the problem is still here with the Network Internet Access after the updates.
I went ahead and cleaned up the stuff and files a post in the networking section. Like you I am puzzle to death over this and running out of options myself. Mt thoughts hare is thinking format and install the 64 bit version of windows verses the 32 bit version, when I first built this machine my older program would not run in 64 bit, but sense the last 5 months I have upgraded all of my most important software.
My thoughts here something happen and it could be very much some windows files are corrupted or messed up and this may be the best options.
Many thanks for your help and trying to fix this problem. Take care and be safe.

I see the windows guys have not replied to you yet, lets get there opinion about reformatting and installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7, besides software upgrades it has to do with some hardware also, may have to do with the size and type of your hard drive along with the amount of memory
Hang on I am going to give them a poke

Ok I wait and see if they see it by the end of the day or in the morning. This is my shop pc and even tho I able to use it for the time with outdoing the updates, I kinda feel better knowing it not a infection or a computer virus that someone did not hack my pc. I check back in a few hours.
Well weird you may find this odd. While waiting, I decided to try the 7 failed updates again to see what would happen, As always when they installed said they succeeded as always and I went to reboot the machine. I got the Network Internet Access and unidentified Network Internet access again and even tho like all the times access or no access still had no access.
So I said o well worth a shot, but before reverting back to the restore point to get my internet back I was thinking about a few things.
1. You asked to removed MSE due to see some messed up files, I had experience with MSE in the past causing problems with my xp machine once so I got to thinking if this may had anything to do with the windows updates or not, most likely not but was just thinking.
2. I had an old tech buddy once told me about windows prefetch where sometime knows virus, malware or install apps has a tendency to hide so once you clean up pc or delete program they would reinstall themselves. Well not sure if this was true or not or he was pulling my leg. Well when working on customer's machines I use to delete the prefetch folder and reboot the machine. Well I got to a point of stopping this, so I said what the heck.
I deleted the prefetch folder, rebooted the machine and walla, the network icon showed only 1 network connection Internet access and this time I had internet access. I well hummmm no way. So I rebooted and rebooted and rebooted and even shut down and each time in the network icon showed only Network Internet access.
So now think strange and even checked for update and windows is updated with all the files ATM, So I said ok go ahead and install my MSE but it would not install some error code would come up when installing error code 80070643.
I went to MS site to try and their help with this code but nothing is fixing it to let me installed MSE, so like the last time when I had a XP machine and has similar issue I said ok, going to install AVG and be done with it and this is what I did install AVG.
Rebooted 5 more times and still same thing Network Internet Access only and having internet access.
So all is work and all updates are installed from windows and this is where I stand. I thinking if I still should le the guys look at the machine or leave it alone and wait and see if I start to have more issue down the road install the 64 bit version of Windows, I bought it to do so but will keep the dvd for now. What do you think??
Jimbo
Hi Jimbo,
I was thinking about the prefetch folder and I was also thinking about having you run a cleaner that includes cleaning out that folder. Looks like your right on top of it.
If your system now is 32 bit and you do an upgrade I am not sure if it will accept the 64 bit version, you may have to reformat and do a clean install. NOT SURE , Is the disk you have a windows 7 cd or is an upgrade cd
AVG is fine, glad you got something.
My friend Rich replied to your topic in networking with some info on reinstalling or upgrading windows

Smiles Good minds think alike, ya as I said I went what the heck and tried that and so far reboot after reboot still comes up fine, 1 network connection. Thanks Ken for all the efforts and work you put into this, it helped a lot believe me it did. Yes I am heading over their now to talk to Z and see what will be the next move.
Thanks Again
Your more than welcome Jimbo, I will keep this thread open for you until its settled at WTT with Z in case you need to come back
Just to let you know all is fine and went to re-format to windows 64 bit. After reading up on Ac Reports for 2013 MSE was not even in the top 5 and has a bad report and yet Ztruker and other recommends it. I had Avast installed and already ran into problems with it and had to unstall it. So what really is the best one to use out their. Thanks Jimbo
Jimbo, we do not help with PMs, this thread is still open for you.
Some AVs are better than others. Been at removing malware for about 14 years or so and even though Norton was discouraged by many people on the forums I had it on 3 of my systems for many years with no problems until the first of this year, I upgraded on my laptop to the latest version and then it made my laptop unbootable, I finally got it going, my x wife updated it also and then could not get online, had to fix that, then my main PC got real sluggish with the new update so at that point I said Saynora Norton and uninstalled it from all the systems and put Microsoft Security Essentials on all 3. AV software is funny, what one program runs fine on one system may cause issues on another, never had any problems at all with MSE. What you want to do is install it, then install the Pro Version of Malwarebytes, it has a protection module that blocks bad sites, its not expensive and worth every penny, I have it installed on all of my systems and would not go online with out it

Sorry I did not know if it was proper to ask that question here, again real sorry. But yes I going to put MSE back on just to have something I know that did not cause me not internet issues, just what got me a bit nervous and after starting all over again with the 64 bit os, is when you found problems with my MSE and after the clean up I could not install it back.
Thanks
Jimbo, I will keep this thread open for you, just post back with any questions. As far as PMs, its just forum policy
Ok got MSE installed and my Mbam Pro installed also. All doing good and will post back in a few days to give you a heads up on performance, so you can mark this closed. Thanks
