Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install

It's looking for a floppy disk... not a cd.

Got any more friends with XP?

Why we think... please run this tool:

Download CKScanner from here:http://downloads.mal...m/CKScanner.exe
Important - Save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick CKScanner.exe (Right click and "Run as administrator" in Vista/Win7).
Give permission if necessary, and click Search For Files.
After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
A message box will verify the file saved. Please run the program once only.
Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

You have a Dell system... and therefore, you should get the disk from Dell in case you want to do a reinstall.  You might try here: http://www.dell.com/...ocid=DSN_331556

"Dell customers can request discs containing the operating system originally installed on their system, as well as the device drivers and utilities specific to the system configuration as it was originally shipped."

Originally my PC came from Dell with Microsoft Vista. Put XP on it after a year or two. I have the Vista disc as well as the drivers disc.

Oh yeah.  You already said that.

Let's try a scanner I haven't used in awhile and see if can tell us anything new.

Please download [url="ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe"] Dr.Web CureIt .    Save it to your desktop:

  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and click Scan to run express scan. Click OK in the  pop-up window to allow the scan.
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and if something is found, click the Yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, select Complete scan.
  • Click the green arrow drweb.jpg at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click Yes to all if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click File and choose Save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Note:this report may need to be renamed to Dr.Web.txt in order to post it on the forum.
  • Please post the Dr.Web.txt report in your next reply
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
  • Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.

NOTE. During the scan, pop-up window will open asking for full version purchase. Simply close the window by clicking on the X in the upper right corner.

This cureit log is doing funky things. I try to copy and paste the log in reply, and the browser locks up. I tried to add as attachement, and it says its too big to upload.
