Welcome to the forum. :D

This will take a few steps so lets get started.

Please do the following,

Step #1

You have a peper infection that we need to remove

http://www.memorywatcher.com/uninst.exe

When you run the uninstaller, you MUST have an internet connection active for it to work

This Peper removal tool only works if run twice. To complete each stage of the Peper removal you need to REBOOT to clear the peper infection each time you run the tool, or the infection will remain.

Step #2

Please download and run Spybot Search & Destroy & Adaware, both can be found in my signature below. Then follow the instructions in the link below to run.

Step # 3

Please do an online scan, 2 would be better,

Panda http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp

Trend Micro http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Make sure that you choose "fix" or "clean".


Reboot and post a new HiJackThis log. You can get an updated version of Hijackthis HERE

Please boot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads) then scan with Hijackthis again and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Run Hijackthis again and have it fix this line

Then boot to safe mode and delete this file

C:\documents and settings\gary\local settings\temp\i6uBI.exe<<
Then clean out all your temp folders again.

Reboot and post a new log. How is it running after the reboot? Yes there is very little left so good job so far. :D

Microsoft’s Telnet Server service for Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003. When running, this service gives Telnet access to remote users. For the layman : Telnet access is a method of connecting and login onto a remote computer and run DOS commands, command-line programs, and DOS commands which can start Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 services on the remote PC/server.

Recommendation :
This service should only ever be turned ON by advanced users who know about Telnet, who know what they are doing, and who know how to securely configure their PC/server with Telnet services running (ie: through securely restricting access to a specifically set up “Telnet Users” group). In all other cases the safest startup setting for this service is Disabled. If you find your Telnet Server service set to start at boot-up, and you know you do not want to provide Telnet services, then you most probably are infected by a virus or were at some stage prior – as and when you are clear of viruses, make sure this service is set back to Disabled if you know this PC/server is not meant to provide Telnet access.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spyblaster, Spyguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
